Contributing to Loris

Hello all,

I'm looking for information on contributing to the development of the Loris IIIF Image Server [1]. I am the lead developer for the University of Maryland Libraries' implementation of Fedora 4, and we are interested in deploying Loris as our IIIF image server, and in contributing back to the community.

Hi Peter,

Which kind of enhancements do you have in mind?

We at the AIC are actively developing some features tightly related to a Fedora4+Hydra scenario. In particular:

1. an extension of the SimpleHttpResolver that supports SAML authentication;

2. A resolver that can retrieve a source image by querying a triplestore or Solr index.

We have some code in place that we are testing. We still need to find the time to clean up the code and write some tests to make it worth sharing, but if you are interested in these features it may be worth looking at it.

In terms of future enhancements, we are most interested in:

1. SSL client cert authentication to Fedora
2. Setting a trusted SSL server cert (instead of just turning off peer validation entirely)
3. Setting config values from environment variables.
