The main topic will be OHMS, the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer.
The session will feature a 20–30 minute discussion about the future of the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer OHMS Viewer and its potential as a IIIF-based project. Currently, the OHMS Viewer is a PHP application that processes and displays OHMS XML files. As part of the Visualizing Oral Histories project, the future form of the OHMS Viewer is being considered. Key discussion topics will include:
- A brief introduction to OHMS Viewer and Visualizing Oral Histories project.
- The implications of transitioning from OHMS XML to IIIF JSON files.
- The administrative challenges for organizations implementing a IIIF solution for the OHMS Viewer.
- Opportunities for collaboration with the AVAnnotate project.
