Subject: Basic Rules Of Indoor Cricket at Silver Spring
Dear Sir,
The following are the basic rules of Indoor Cricket which is scheduled to be held at Silver Spring on February 6, 2011; Its very interesting and expected that you and all the invitees from your end, apart from the participants, will also enjoy the same. As discussed I will meet you on 27/1/11
Ø Each team shall comprise of eight playing members.
Ø The match shall be eight over an innings, and only one innings each.
Ø Each player must compulsorily bowl one over.
Ø A team will have to bat the full quota of eight over even if they opponents score.
Ø The opening batting pair shall bat for the first two over. The opening pair will have to be replaced by the next pair at the end of the first two over.
Ø The side netting has a one bonus run zone, which covers the area, between the batting crease and halfway line, and another two bonus run zone, which continues from the halfway line to the corner of the playing arena. The front netting is a four bonus runs zone, if hit after a bounce and six bonus runs when the ball hits it on the full. The bonus runs are added with the scored by running between the wickets.
Ø No bonus runs will be awarded of the roof netting.
Ø A catch of any net is declared out and three runs, is deducted from the batting side. The batsman however continues to bat. This rule however does not apply for a catch of the front net when a six is hit.
Ø Running between the wickets is done between the batting crease and the half way point on the pitch. The runners crease is marked at the halfway point and the runners stand at this crease. All complete runs will therefore mean a player runs only half the pitch.
Ø To run a batsman out at the bowlers end, the bowlers end will have to be struck before the batsman reaches the half way runners crease.
Ø No LBW rules apply.
Ø Over throws that hit the bonus run zones will get the bonus runs added to the runs taken.
Ø A dismissal will mean deduction of three runs but the batsman continues to bat.
Ø A WIDE Ball (anything outside the leg stump and 12 inches wide of the off stump) or a NO Ball is penalized with two runs getting added on the batting side scores. An additional ball is also to be bowled.
Ø Umpires decision is final on the field.
Ø All team members and reserves must be in identical uniform.
Ø Sports shoes with rubber soles are a must.
Ø Approximate time per match is 60 minutes.
Ø A maximum of four players (which include the bowler) shall be allowed beyond the two run zone.
Newly changes rules:
Every WIDE Ball & NO Ball will be counted except 4th & 8th Over (Normal rules are apply in Two over); Batting side will get 5 runs in WIDE & NO Ball.
Thanking you
With warm Regards
