Subject: RE: YES...!!!!! WE CAN DEFEAT CORRUPTION.......
Dear Friends,
“The ultimate
tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence
over that by the good people.”
~ Martin Luther
King (similar quote was from Swami Vivekanand)
It is not the corruption that is bigger problem in India, every country has corruption at all levels and all times including India. Our bigger problem is societal acceptance of corruption NOW compared to in past and corrupt people not getting punished. If these two issues need to be solved, good people need to take a stand against corruption by breaking silence and not glorify corrupt people.
We know that Right-To-Information (RTI) has helped unearth corruption at all levels in public offices. RTI is necessary but not sufficient condition to root out corruption from India. Why? RTI helps unearth corruption and but unless guilty is punished in timely fashion it can not stop corruption. Rather RTI becomes a issue. It makes us aware of corruption which was hidden before RTI and makes us accept corruption as social unavoidable evil.
The Lok Pal Bill was supposed to ensure accused politicians/ Officers get punished for corruption but current Bill rests Primary Power of decision making in the hands of the Government……. Leading to dismal record of punishing a politicians in India.

To overcome the limitations of current Lok Pal bill, a New Bill has been proposed called The Jan Lok Pal Bill by prominent people such as Santosh Hegde, Prashant Bhushan and Arvind Kejriwal after refinement based on feedback received from public. It has also been vetted by and is supported by Shanti Bhushan, J M Lyngdoh, Kiran Bedi, Anna Hazare etc
Anna Hazare_________ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_Hazare : one of the leading champion of RTI act.

The primary objective of the Current Bill is to:
1. Make LokPal a autonomous body like Chief Election Commission and not
driven by political compulsions.
2. Put the Corrupt person behind the bars in Max of 2
Years : so that witness and proof’s do not get twisted.
3. Get back the money from the person by the time of Conviction. So that
money is not utilized by corrupt to influence witness/justice and enjoy for
years till they are put in jail
