Dear Architects,

Greetings ! With the onset of winter and the season of festivals, it's time to take time off the grind of site visits, client interactions, drawings and sketches; it's the time to unwind!  

Indian Institute of Architects, Odisha Chapter is organising its Annual event “Design Carnival & The Interior Show-2012” from 7^th to 11^th November 2012. The design carnival brings together representation not just from Odisha but also from across the country. For the last 6 years the carnival has been debating on new paradigms of architecture and planning not just from a design perspective but also from usability and functionality perspective. This time the chosen theme of the carnival is “Inclusive Architecture”.

Cricket Match

In the morning on 9^th Nov there will be a cricket match at SOA University Ground between the professionals and students of Architecture. Don't at all miss it if you are a cricket freak. 

 

The Inaugural Function

The inauguration of the ceremony of Design Carnival 2012 will be held on 9th evening at Pool Side, Swosti premium with presence of Chief Guest Sri B.K.Pattnaik, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Odisha and Guest of Honour Sri Vishal Dev (IAS), Vice Chaiman, BDA.   Ar.Uday C.Gadkari, President, Council of Architecture will be felicitated on this occasion

The other activities during the event on the same day include seminar and design competitions among the students of architecture and presentations by renowned local architects.        

 

Seminars on the theme "Inclusive Architecture"

On 10th November at Swosti premium, Bhubaneswar, as part of the carnival there will be a seminar on the topic “Inclusive Architecture” by Ar. Girish Doshi, an eminent architect from Pune. Ar. Prakash Deshmukh from Pune will also be giving a presentation on the same topic.

 

Meet The President

On 10th there will be an interacting session with Mr. Uday Gadkari, president of COA (Council of Architecture) on a programme titled MEET THE PRESIDENT regarding the challenges in the profession and the vision ahead. 

Awards for Architects

On 10th evening at the same venue we have as Chief Guest His Excellency, Sri Muralidhar Chandrakant Bhandare, Hon’ble Governor of state of Odisha and Ar. Ar.Uday Gadkari, President, Council of Architecture as guest of honour.

 

Three State Level Awards for local Architects will be presented on this occasion by our Chief Guest His Excellency, Sri Muralidhar Chandrakant Bhandare, Hon’ble Governor of state of Odisha .The awards are as follows:

Otto Koenigsberger  Lifetime Achievement Award  (Through nomination)

Ar. Srikant Paikray Award for Architect of the Year (Through entries and selection by jury)

Ar. Saurastra Das Award for Young Architect of the Year (Based on final year thesis of students)

Musical Nights

For your entertainment  there will be cultural programs both on 9^th Nov (by famous singers Sri Pranab Patnaik, Sri Saourav Nayak, Ms Pami) and on 10th Nov (by singer and performer Rockstar Manas Preetam ) in the evening at Swosti Premium. DON'T MISS IT !
