Amy Coney Barrett confirmed to Supreme Court, 'Squad' members call for expanding the bench | 26 Oct 2020 | Members of the progressive "Squad" of House Democrats didn't skip a beat on Monday, calling for court-packing almost immediately after Judge Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation to the Supreme Court. "Expand the court," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said in a terse response. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., followed: "Expand the court." Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., tweeted after Barrett's confirmation. "We must expand the Court if we're serious about the transformational change the people are crying out for." After Senate Democrats previously indicated they would take extraordinary measures in response to a Barrett confirmation, former Vice President Joe Biden declined to say whether he would pack the courts.

Roberts to administer judicial oath to Barrett Tuesday | 26 Oct 2020 | Chief Justice John Roberts will administer the judicial oath to Amy Coney Barrett on Tuesday following her confirmation to the Supreme Court on Monday evening. The Supreme Court announced that Roberts will give the judicial oath to Barrett in a private ceremony Tuesday after she was officially confirmed by the Senate in a 52-48 vote. "Upon administration of that oath, she will be able to begin to participate in the work of the Court," the Supreme Court release states.

Barrett sworn in as Supreme Court justice by Thomas | 26 Oct 2020 | Amy Coney Barrett was sworn in as the 115th justice on the Supreme Court at a White House ceremony Monday evening, capping a weeks-long partisan fight over her nomination. President Trump looked on as Justice Clarence Thomas administered the official constitutional oath to Barrett before a crowd on the South Lawn of the White House, roughly an hour after the GOP-controlled Senate confirmed Trump's third nominee to the high court in a largely party-line vote. They stood on the White House balcony, which was decorated with American flags. Barrett spoke following the oath, thanking Trump and Senate leaders and emphasizing the need for judges to put aside their personal policy views.

Amy Coney Barrett confirmed to Supreme Court in final Senate vote | 26 Oct 2020 | Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed to the Supreme Court late Monday by a deeply divided Senate, Republicans overpowering Democrats to install President Donald Trump's nominee days before the election and secure a likely conservative court majority for years to come. Democrats were unable to stop the outcome, Trump's third justice on the court, as Republicans race to reshape the judiciary. Barrett is 48, and her lifetime appointment as the 115th justice will solidify the court's rightward tilt. Monday's 52-48 vote was the closest high court confirmation ever to a presidential election, and the first in modern times with no support from the minority party.

Trump announces peace deal between Sudan and Israel, says more nations will normalize relations --Sudan is the third Arab state to do so as part of U.S.-brokered deals in the run-up to Election Day | 24 Oct 2020 | President Trump on Friday announced a peace deal that would normalize ties between Israel and Sudan, claiming there "would be many more peace deals to come in the Middle East." Trump invited reporters into the Oval Office while he was on the phone with the leaders of Israel and Sudan to discuss the latest U.S.-brokered deal in the run-up to Election Day. Trump said Sudan had demonstrated a commitment to battling terrorism. "This is one of the great days in the history of Sudan," Trump said, adding that Israel and Sudan have been in a state of war for decades.

Trump has list of top intelligence officials he'll fire if he wins reelection - report | 25 Oct 2020 | President Trump plans to fire several top [deep-state] officials in the national security sphere should he win reelection in November, Axios reported Sunday. The president plans to fire Defense Secretary Mark Esper, CIA Director Gina Haspel and FBI Director Christopher Wray, two people familiar with his decision-making told the news outlet. White House officials declined to comment on personnel matters...News of Trump's latest possible targets for firing comes just days after The Washington Post reported that the president had recently discussed firing Wray in conversations with White House advisers. [It's about time!]

Florida to investigate all COVID-19 deaths after questions about 'integrity' of data | 21 Oct 2020 | Florida, which has reported the deaths of more than 16,400 people from COVID-19, now says the public may not be able to trust any of those numbers. The state Department of Health on Wednesday ordered an investigation of all pandemic fatalities, one week after House Speaker Jose Oliva slammed the death data from medical examiners as "often lacking in rigor" and undermining "the completeness and reliability of the death records." In a news release, officials highlighted concerns about 95 deaths reported to the state on Tuesday... The issue involves numerous other counties, such as the new report of a 58-year-old Miami-Dade woman who tested positive June 23 and died Oct. 6.

Illinois restaurants, bars remain open to defy governor's closure orders | 23 Oct 2020 | Some restaurants and bars in Illinois are promising to stay open despite threats from Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) to shut down establishments that don't follow guidelines and closure orders...Despite Pritzker's threats and the surging cases, some restaurants are adamant that they're staying open no matter what authorities say. Ki's Steak and Seafood in Glendale Heights railed against "DICTATOR PRITZKER" on Facebook, saying that they will not close down. "We are standing up for our freedom and WE WILL STAY OPEN! We have been in business for 80+ years and no one is going to tell us we can't live out the American dream," the restaurant posted. Comments on Ki's post are almost universally supportive of the decision to defy Pritzker's orders.

Flu away: Scientists baffled at disappearance of influenza...but is it really gone, or just masked by Covid-19? | 26 Oct 2020 | There has been a 98% plummet in flu infections this year, dispelling fears of a Covid and flu 'twin-demic' about which many had warned. Experts say we can thank masks and social distancing. But does this really add up? Although there is no mass testing for flu as there is for Covid, the WHO says that surveillance of data from around the world shows flu rates collapsing everywhere. Australia essentially 'skipped' their flu season this year, with not a single case reported since July (their peak). In fact, flu has more or less vanished throughout the Southern Hemisphere, and early indicators suggest it will follow suit north of the equator. What can explain this unprecedented decline? To my mind there are three possibilities. The first is that it only seems like the flu has disappeared because doctors and scientists have been wrongly classing other respiratory diseases as Covid...

28 die in South Korea after receiving flu vaccine | 22 Oct 2020 | A succession of deaths following flu shots -- 28 reported as of Thursday -- is fanning fears over the safety of Korean influenza vaccinations, though the government insists a link remains unproven. A 74-year-old man in Incheon became one of the latest to perish under unexplained circumstances, authorities in the city said, less than two days after being administered with a flu shot at a local clinic. Over a dozen others, most of advanced ages and with pre-existing conditions, died in similar fashion in locations around the country within days of receiving flu vaccines of different types from different manufacturers. Eighteen deaths were reported on Thursday alone, and more may have emerged after deadline.

San Francisco Tech CEO Emails 10 Million Customers, Urging Them to Vote for Biden | 24 Oct 2020 | Offering yet another reminder of just how far-removed the hysterical hyper-liberalism of San Francisco and the Bay Area is from the normal American political baseline, the CEO of Expensify, one of the world's largest providers of expense account software, recently emailed all 10 million users of the firms' software pleading with them to vote for Vice President Joe Biden. According to Bloomberg, the idea elicited "strong debate" within the company, which is based in San Francisco, with some employees disagreeing with the gesture. But CEO David Barrett, the driving force behind the message, said he decided to press ahead and hit "send." The full email can be read here.

Tucker Carlson to interview Hunter Biden's business partner Tony Bobulinski to discuss new allegations | 26 Oct 2020 | Tucker Carlson of Fox News will interview Hunter Biden's former business partner Tony Bobulinski on Tuesday in his first TV appearance since his recent allegations about dealings with the Democratic nominee's son. "Bobulinski will discuss new allegations regarding his relationships with both Hunter and the former Vice President," Fox said in a press release Monday. Bobulinski has claimed that Joe Biden was lying when he said he never discussed business dealings with his son. The former naval officer also said last week that he turned over documents and phones to the FBI and the Senate Homeland Security Committee.

Source on alleged Hunter Biden email chain verifies message about Chinese investment firm --Sources have told Fox News that 'the big guy' is a reference to the former vice president. | 17 Oct 2020 | One of the people on an explosive email thread allegedly involving Hunter Biden has corroborated the veracity of the messages, which appear to outline a payout for former Vice President Joe Biden as part of a deal with a Chinese energy firm. One email, dated May 13, 2017, and obtained by Fox News, includes a discussion of "remuneration packages" for six people in a business deal with a Chinese energy firm. The email appeared to identify Hunter Biden as "Chair / Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC," in an apparent reference to now-bankrupt CEFC China Energy Co. The email includes a note that "Hunter has some office expectations he will elaborate." A proposed equity split references "20" for "H" and "10 held by H for the big guy?" with no further details. Fox News spoke to one of the people who was copied on the email, who confirmed its authenticity. Sources told Fox News that "the big guy" is a reference to the former vice president. The New York Post initially published the emails and other controversial messages that Fox News has also obtained.

Leaked files show years of Hunter Biden's business dealings | 22 Oct 2020 | A tranche of emails, texts, and business documents released by Hunter Biden's former business partner Tony Bobulinski reveals a complicated web of foreign figures, all of whom trade off access to the former vice president or off the Biden family name. The hundreds of files, which were shared with the Washington Examiner, detail the inner workings of how Hunter Biden’s former business partners, Bobulinksi and James Gilliar, routinely pitched deals with their firm as politically advantageous due to their relationships with the Biden family. Both Hunter Biden and Joe Biden's brother, Jim Biden, were often copied on the emails, many of which describe banal meetings or opportunities to pitch business to new clients. One of the bigger deals pursued by Hunter Biden and his associates was related to a joint venture dubbed "Oneida Holdings" -- an attempted partnership between Hunter and Jim Biden, Bobulinski's SinoHawk company, and since-bankrupted Chinese energy conglomerate CEFC China Energy.

Kamala Harris Rally Draws Crowd of Six People | 22 Oct 2020 | Kamala Harris attended an event meant to encourage people to vote at Asheville, North Carolina, on Wednesday. The vice-presidential candidate spoke while on a makeshift stage, as though she was facing a massive crowd of followers. However, when the cameras panned out, they revealed that the "crowd" was just made up of six women who were applauding Harris's speech unenthusiastically. Harris's bodyguards and the rest of her entourage were more than the supposed crowd who listened to her speech. The audience members were forced to stand inside circles that were marked off on the ground to enforce social distancing.

Man arrested for willful, malicious burning of ballot box in Boston, police say | 26 Oct 2020 | A Boston man was arraigned Monday in connection with a fire that was set inside a ballot drop box in the city. Both the prosecution and defense agreed that Worldy Armand, 39, has mental health issues, but the judge Monday declined to send him for a mental health evaluation after Armand refused to speak with a psychologist in court... Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin contacted U.S. Attorney's Office after he was notified of the incident Sunday morning, and also called on the FBI to investigate the "deliberate attack." Galvin told NewsCenter 5 that it appears a sophisticated incendiary device was used to start the fire, as the damage to the interior plastic lining of the ballot drop box was severe.

Truer words never spoken: Lou Dobbs goes after Lindsey Graham: 'I don't know why anyone' would vote for him | 24 Oct 2020 | Fox Business host Lou Dobbs on Friday went after Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.), asking why anyone would vote for the Republican lawmaker  [deep state dirt-bag] just weeks before his hotly contested election. Dobbs lashed out at the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman for "not subpoenaing the left-wing heads of the censorships Twitter and Facebook until after the election." "I don’t know why anyone in the great state of South Carolina would ever vote for Lindsey Graham. It's just outrageous," Dobbs said. "This is the guy who keeps saying, 'Stay tuned.' He said he would get to the bottom of Obamagate with the Judiciary Committee, which has been a year and a half, actually longer, of absolute inert response to these pressing issues of our day." ..."Graham has betrayed President Trump at almost every turn," Dobbs pressed. "He has betrayed the American people and his oath of office. He's done absolutely nothing to investigate Obamagate except to tell everyone, 'Stay tuned,' time and time again. Stay tuned. Senator Graham needs to be tuned out in South Carolina.

Republicans on Senate panel subpoena Facebook, Twitter CEOs | 22 Oct 2020 | The Senate Judiciary Committee voted Thursday to subpoena the chief executives of Facebook and Twitter a week after both platforms limited the spread of an article about Hunter Biden, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's son. The panel voted 12-0 to compel the testimony of Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey. The Democrats on the committee had boycotted the hearing over the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett. It is not clear when the Judiciary hearing would take place [because deep-state dirt-bag Lindsey Graham ensured it would take place *after* the election].

NYPD Suspends Officer for Promoting Trump on Patrol Vehicle Speaker | 26 Oct 2020 | A police officer in New York City was suspended without pay after videos showed him using the loudspeaker from one of the department's patrol vehicles in violation of a policy against endorsing political candidates while on duty, NYPD officials said. The footage posted on Twitter shows an unidentified person using offensive language toward the NYPD officer over the weekend in the Flatbush area in the borough of Brooklyn, challenging him to repeat the slogan "Trump 2020," which he allegedly said before the video was recorded. "Trump 2020," the officer is heard saying, following repeated threats from the pedestrian. "Put it on YouTube. Put it on Facebook. Trump 2020," the officer continued, according to another video taken from another angle. The department wrote on Twitter that the officer was "suspended without pay."

Senate Judiciary Committee approves Amy Coney Barrett's nomination | 22 Oct 2020 | The Senate Judiciary Committee approved Judge Amy Coney Barrett's nomination to the Supreme Court on Thursday, clearing the way for a full Senate vote in the week before the election. All 12 Republicans on the committee voted to advance the nomination, while all 10 Democrats boycotted the vote. With Democrats absent, large photographs of people who rely on the Affordable Care Act for their health care were placed in front of their empty chairs at the meeting. Democrats have raised concerns that Barrett would vote to overturn the ACA if confirmed to the court, given her previous criticism of a ruling upholding the law. However, the Democrats' boycott did not stop Republicans from moving forward with her nomination.

One of the murder charges dismissed against Derek Chauvin, officer seen kneeling on George Floyd's neck | 22 Oct 2020 | A third-degree murder charge against a former police officer involved in the death of George Floyd has been dismissed. A Hennepin County judge dismissed the charge Thursday against Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer captured on video pressing his knee against Floyd's neck. The state has five days to appeal. However, the other charges against Chauvin - unintentional second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter - still stand.
