Volunteer in AstraZeneca-Oxford University coronavirus vaccine clinical trial dies, report says | 21 Oct 2020 | A volunteer involved in AstraZeneca and Oxford University's coronavirus vaccine trial has died, Brazilian health authority Anvisa announced on Wednesday, according to Reuters. An investigation into the death is ongoing, but the trials will continue. The Wall Street Journal, citing local Brazilian press reports, said the volunteer was a man in his 20s from Rio de Janeiro... In the U.S., clinical trials involving AstraZeneca have been put on hold pending an FDA investigation into a "possible serious adverse event." On Wednesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar told reporters that he was unaware of any plans to resume the trials as the case was still under FDA review.

Moderna's COVID-19 Vaccine Provokes 'COVID-Like Symptoms' in Phase 3 Trial | 19 Oct 2020 | Biotechnology firm Moderna, Inc. of Cambridge, Massachusetts began a Phase 3 human clinical trial to test the safety and efficacy of its experimental mRNA-1273 COVID-19 vaccine on July 27, 2020. The randomized, placebo-controlled trial involves giving two 100-microgram doses of the vaccine to 28,618 volunteer participants over 18 years of age, including some elderly people aged 71 and older. The first dose of the vaccine, which has been given to all participants, was followed up 28 days later with a second dose. As of Oct. 9, 22, some 194 participants have received the second dose. In August, some of the participants reportedly experienced adverse events such as fatigue, chills, headaches and injection site painPhase 3 Trial Participants Have Serious Reactions --In September, three participants in the Phase 3 trial reported suffering reactions such as high fever, headaches, body aches and exhaustion. One of these participants, 44-year-old Luke Hutchison of Utah, suffered a fever (over 100°F), chills, a bad headache and shortness of breath after getting the second dose of the vaccine.

Casket outside Brooklyn nursing home filled with 6,500 covers of Cuomo's book | 18 Oct 2020 | A silver casket was wheeled to the front of a Brooklyn nursing home Sunday -- and 6,500 copies of the cover of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's new book were dumped into it in protest of his COVID-19 policies. The number of covers was equal to the roughly 6,500 people who have been reported killed by the coronavirus in nursing homes in the state -- although the ralliers said they believe the figure is much higher. "My mother-in-law got COVID in an elder-care facility but died in a hospital, [so] her number does not count" in New York’s nursing-home tally, said Janice Dean, a meteorologist for TV's "Fox & Friends" who was among the roughly 50 protesters outside the Cobble Hill Health Center.

State's reaction to COVID is killing Coloradans | 13 Oct 2020 | According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 438 Coloradans died from COVID between June 14 and September 26. Heartbreaking as that is, it is not the most catastrophic thing happening in Colorado. The worse tragedy is that in the same time period, at least 1,038 Coloradans have died from Colorado's reaction to COVID. That bears repeating: deaths from our reaction to COVID are outpacing COVID deaths by more than two to one. Colorado is literally killing itself... The causes of the excess deaths include isolation, fear and despair. As to isolation, the CDC data shows that over 200 of the non-COVID excess deaths are among Alzheimer's and dementia sufferers, likely in long term care facilities where visits are restricted and they are denied physical contact with visitors.

Greeley nursing home residents protest pandemic lockdown: 'I'd rather die of COVID than loneliness' | 08 Oct 2020 | (Greeley, CO) Waving signs that read such things as "I'd rather die of COVID than loneliness," and "We are prisoners in our home," residents of one nursing facility staged their own anti-lockdown protest along one of the busiest streets in Greeley, directly across the street from the city’s largest and longest operating hospital "Freedom, freedom, freedom," one lady chanted while waving a sign that read "we want our families back." The protest against the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and Gov. Jared Polis's (D-Dirt-bag) mandates that do not allow nursing home residents to see their loved ones, was thought up, organized and carried out by the residents, with oversight from their nurses and other staff members, said the Assistant Administrator of Fairacres Manor Ben Gonzales... One woman, who was not from Greeley, but happened to be at the hospital during the protest yelled across the street "tell them to let you out of jail."

'A Truly Orwellian Culture' - Amazon Removes COVID Skeptic's Book for Violating Content Guidelines | 18 Oct 2020 | Around the time Twitter purged New York Post's bombshell stories about Hunter Biden from its platform, late last week, Amazon was busy censoring any criticism against the "official" COVID-19 narrative, with the banning of at least one book from its Amazon Books store. Political writer James Perloff's latest book, Covid-19 and the Agendas to Come: Red-Pilled, was removed from Amazon on Thursday, he tweeted. Perloff spoke with RT News about the incident, which he outlined how Amazon's act of censorship validates his book's findings, expressing concern that "the censorship on Covid has been getting progressively stronger, even as the death rate from Covid has been getting progressively lower." "We are in a truly Orwellian culture," he warned.

Calif. doctor successfully cures 1,700 COVID-19 patients | 06 Oct 2020 | While the media continues pushing hype around the coronavirus, actual medical experts say we already have the tools we need to combat the virus. One America's Pearson Sharp spoke with Brian Tyson, a doctor in Southern California who has successfully treated over 1,700 patients with the drug hydroxychloroquine. (Video)

Russia offers one-year freeze on nuclear arsenal if New START extended | 20 Oct 2020 | Moscow is ready to offer Washington a mutual one-year freeze on both sides' nuclear arsenals, if New START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) is prolonged for the same period of time, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated. "Russia offers to prolong New START for one year, and it is ready to take on the political obligation along with the USA to freeze the amount of its nuclear warheads for that period. This position can be implemented strictly on the understanding that the freezing of the warheads will not be accompanied by any additional demands from the side of the US," the ministry noted.

A US lab used rockets to launch a semi-truck into a new tractor trailer built to transport nuclear weapons --Sandia National Laboratories revealed this month that it strapped rockets to a semi-truck and slammed it into the lab's new nuclear weapons transporter. | 20 Oct 2020 | Sandia National Laboratories rocketed a semi-truck into a new tractor trailer built to safely transport nuclear weapons this summer, the lab announced earlier this month. In its largest crash test in about two decades, Sandia used rockets to propel a semi down a track into a prototype of the new Mobile Guardian Transporter, expected to eventually replace the Safeguards Transporter fielded in the 1990s as a replacement for the earlier Safe Secure Transport. The latest vehicle is an all-new design, although specifics are limited. Once it is fielded, the third-generation Mobile Guardian Transporter will be used by the National Nuclear Security Administration's Office of Secure Transportation to move nuclear weapons. The purpose of the kinetic test was to ensure that the new transporter could survive a crash.

Japan set to release Fukushima water into Pacific Ocean --Release to occur after 2022 despite reputational worries from fishing industry | 16 Oct 2020 | Japan is set to officially decide to release treated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the ocean amid opposition from a fishing industry worried about its reputation. Keeping water at the site, where the devastating tsunami in 2011 led to three meltdowns, could affect decommissioning... The plant is managed by the Tokyo Electric Power Company. Since the meltdowns, groundwater and rain have been entering the site. As of fiscal 2019, an additional 180 tons of water was being contaminated every day by the high concentration of radioactive substances. Tepco removes major radioactive substances from the water, which is then stored at the site. As of Sept. 17, there were 1.23 million tons of treated water in about 1,000 tanks.

Trump, Biden debate marked by clashes, but less chaos | 22 Oct 2020 | After the first presidential debate was panned so widely that organizers introduced a mute button, Thursday's second and final debate between President Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden was far more civil. Whether because of that button or the terrible reviews -- especially for Trump -- the two interrupted each other far less frequently, even as they clashed on issues ranging from the coronavirus to crime... "So far, I respect very much the way you're handling this," Trump said to NBC's Kristen Welker when she gave him time to respond to Biden at one point.

Hunter's ex-partner Tony Bobulinski: Joe Biden's a liar and here's the proof | 22 Oct 2020 | Hunter Biden's ex-business associate Tony Bobulinski accused Democratic nominee Joe Biden of lying about his involvement in his family's overseas dealings in a stunning appearance just 90 minutes before Thursday evening's presidential debate. "I have heard Joe Biden say he has never discussed his dealings with Hunter. That is false. I have firsthand knowledge about this because I directly dealt with the Biden family, including Joe Biden," Bobulinski said following The Post's bombshell reporting on Hunter Biden's private emails. Bobulinski, who will be a guest of Trump's at the debate, showed three phones spanning 2015 to 2018 as evidence and said he would be meeting with the Senate and the FBI to hand over electronics. The US Navy veteran said he was introduced to the former veep in May 2, 2017, by Hunter Biden and the lawmaker's brother Jim Biden before the Milken Conference.

President Trump plans to bring Hunter Biden associate Tony Bobulinski as guest to debate | 22 Oct 2020 | President Trump is expected to bring former Hunter Biden associate Tony Bobulinski as his guest to the final presidential debate Thursday night, Fox News has learned. Bobulinski is a retired lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and the CEO of Sinohawk Holdings, which he explained "was a partnership between the Chinese operating through CEFC/Chairman Ye and the Biden family." He said he was brought on as CEO by Hunter Biden and James Gilliar and on Thursday released emails and text messages that appear to show Joe Biden's involvement with his son's foreign business dealings. He was slated to deliver a statement to the media before the debate, and planned to say that he is turning his electronic devices over to the FBI. Bobulinski, in a statement to Fox News, said he does not believe Joe Biden's past claim that he did not discuss his son Hunter's business affairs with him, claiming that Hunter "frequently referenced asking him for his sign-off or advice on various potential deals.

Laptop connected to Hunter Biden linked to FBI money laundering probe | 21 Oct 2020 | The FBI's subpoena of a laptop and hard drive purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden came in connection with a m-ney laundering investigation in late 2019, according to documents obtained by Fox News and verified by multiple federal law enforcement officials who reviewed them. It is unclear, at this point, whether the investigation is ongoing or if it was directly related to Hunter Biden. Multiple federal law enforcement officials, as well as two separate government officials, confirmed the authenticity of these documents, which were signed by FBI Special Agent Joshua Wilson... One of the documents, obtained by Fox News, was designated as an FBI "Receipt for Property" form, which details the bureau’s interactions with John Paul Mac Isaac, the owner of "The Mac Shop" who reported the laptop’s contents to authorities.

FBI in possession of Hunter Biden's purported laptop, sources say --The FBI and Justice Department concur with DNI Ratcliffe that the laptop is not part of a Russian disinformation campaign. | 20 Oct 2020 | The FBI is in possession of the laptop purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden which contained emails revealing his foreign business dealings, including contacts in Ukraine and China, two senior administration officials told Fox News Tuesday. The FBI declined to confirm or deny the existence of an investigation into the laptop or the emails, as is standard practice. Further, Fox News has learned that the FBI and Justice Department officials concur with an assessment from Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe that the laptop is not part of a Russian disinformation campaign targeting Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. Ratcliffe, on Monday, said that Hunter Biden's laptop and the emails on it "is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign," despite claims from House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

Source on alleged Hunter Biden email chain verifies message about Chinese investment firm --Sources have told Fox News that 'the big guy' is a reference to the former vice president. | 17 Oct 2020 | One of the people on an explosive email thread allegedly involving Hunter Biden has corroborated the veracity of the messages, which appear to outline a payout for former Vice President Joe Biden as part of a deal with a Chinese energy firm. One email, dated May 13, 2017, and obtained by Fox News, includes a discussion of "remuneration packages" for six people in a business deal with a Chinese energy firm. The email appeared to identify Hunter Biden as "Chair / Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC," in an apparent reference to now-bankrupt CEFC China Energy Co. The email includes a note that "Hunter has some office expectations he will elaborate." A proposed equity split references "20" for "H" and "10 held by H for the big guy?" with no further details. Fox News spoke to one of the people who was copied on the email, who confirmed its authenticity. Sources told Fox News that "the big guy" is a reference to the former vice president. The New York Post initially published the emails and other controversial messages that Fox News has also obtained.

Biden calls lid on campaign events until after debate with Trump | 19 Oct 2020 | Back into the basement he goes. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is back at his Wilmington, Del., home and will not return to the campaign trail until after his face-off with President Trump at Thursday night's debate. The former vice president landed in his home state Sunday evening after campaigning in North Carolina, after which the Biden campaign called a lid. "Calling a lid" refers to a candidate or campaign indicating to the press that they will not be holding any more events, usually for the day.

Trump campaign says debate commission pushing pro-Biden topic change | 19 Oct 2010 | President Trump's re-election campaign on Monday said that the Commission on Presidential Debates is attempting to change the focus of this week's final forum to benefit Democratic candidate Joe Biden. Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller told reporters on a conference call that the final debate -- this Thursday in Nashville -- was supposed to be about foreign policy, but that the commission is attempting to broaden the topics discussed. "They're putting their foot on the scale with regard to this third debate. This was supposed to be the foreign policy debate," Miller said.

Senate Democrats to boycott Barrett's Judiciary Committee vote Thursday --'We will not grant this process any further legitimacy,' Chuck Schumer says. | 21 Oct 2020 | Senate Democrats plan to boycott Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett's Judiciary Committee vote Thursday in an act of protest, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced Wednesday. The Senate Judiciary Committee is set to vote at 1 p.m. to advance Barrett’s nomination to the floor. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said this week that the Senate will hold a final vote on Barrett’s nomination Monday. The boycott won't prevent Barrett's nomination from moving ahead, with Republicans on the committee vowing to confirm her.

Senate subpoenas Facebook, Twitter CEOs over handling of Post's Hunter Biden story | 22 Oct 2020 | Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey are being called to Capitol Hill to answer for their companies' censorship of the New York Post’s expose on the Biden family’s foreign business dealings. Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday authorized subpoenas for the Facebook and Twitter CEOs after accusing them of engaging in "suppression and/or censorship" of The Post’s reporting. The Post earlier this month reported on an email to Hunter Biden from an adviser to the board of Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma thanking him for the "opportunity" to meet his father. At the time, Hunter Biden served on the board and his father was vice president. Twitter has refused to unlock The Post's account unless the news organization deletes tweets about its own reporting. Facebook, meanwhile, suppressed the story in users' news feeds.

White House Expert Scott Atlas Censored By Twitter --Twitter has capped off a week of censorship by silencing a top White House scientist. | 18 Oct 2020 | Social media company Twitter finished its week of apparently politically motivated censorship on its platform by banning tweets regarding the efficacy of masks from Scott Atlas, a member of the White House scientific team battling the coronavirus. Atlas, a senior fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institute, not only had his tweets removed, he was banned from tweeting until he deleted the tweets that Twitter for unclear reasons objects to. In an email to The Federalist, Atlas outlined the evidence behind his tweet.

Free speech, anti-Twitter rally in San Francisco turns ugly as counter-protesters storm event, beat pro-Trump demonstrators --An organizer of the protest had a tooth knocked out | 17 Oct 2020 | A rally called to promote free speech and denounce big tech censorship turned ugly Saturday in San Francisco, when hundreds of alleged Antifa counter-protesters showed up and berated and attacked demonstrators, leaving one missing a tooth. The conservative group Team Save America organized the event to protest Twitter, which it argues censors free speech. They planned to rally at United Nations Plaza before moving the protest to Twitter's headquarters a few blocks away. But the event quickly devolved into a shouting match and violence as hundreds of counter-protesters stormed the scene. Video shows one counter-protester punching Philip Anderson, an organizer of the event, knocking one of his teeth out. Anderson posted a picture of the aftermath on social media and said he was attacked by Antifa.

Twitter employees openly rip Trump, praise Biden: 'Trump must be defeated' --One Twitter engineering manager said Trump should 'die in a fire' in a January 2017 tweet. A year later, he rang in the new year by saying 'Happy 2018! Donald Trump is dead!' | 17 Oct 2020 | Twitter's senior executives have a long history of anti-Trump hatred, a Post review of dozens of accounts of top employees found. The venom, vitriol and, in some cases, vows to help Joe Biden across the finish line in next month's presidential election continue to live online as the company earlier this week decided to censor The New York Post's revelations about Hunter Biden's emails to a consultant for the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. "GET HIM OUT," posted a senior site reliability engineer on Aug. 18. "What a f–king baboon." One manager with almost nine years on the job said he was quite keen to watch Biden "crush [President Trump] in the election" and that he hoped the president would "be utterly humiliated while also suffering greatly from #COVID19." In another post he fantasized about the president being put on a ventilator. He calls Trump "a f–king idiot" and the voters who elected him -- "hysterically f–king stupid people." At the same time the employee has been a consistent cheerleader of his company's efforts to rein in the president on the platform and curb the spread of "misinformation... One Twitter engineering manager said Trump should "die in a fire" in a January 2017 tweet. A year later, he rang in the new year by saying "Happy 2018! Donald Trump is dead!" None of these comments have ever been flagged by Twitter or been subject to any other form of official sanction, even as the social-media giant dishes out discipline to others for sharing legitimate news stories that might hurt Biden.

New York Times Magazine Says the Biggest Threat to Free Speech...is Free Speech | 15 Oct 2020 | In another showing of proof that the fake news is in fact the enemy of the people, the New York Times Magazine has published an article arguing that the biggest threat to free speech…is free speech itself. Feminist author Emily Bazelon believes that government and corporate censorship must be used to save free speech, and she made her case very poorly in an op-ed riddled with Orwellian doublespeak. "It's an article of faith in the United States that more speech is better and that the government should regulate it as little as possible. But increasingly, scholars of constitutional law, as well as social scientists, are beginning to question the way we have come to think about the First Amendment's guarantee of free speech," Bazelon wrote, effectively arguing for an end to the Bill of Rights...Bazelon is arguing that since freedom of speech allows people like Trump and his supporters to speak freely, it must be sharply curtailed.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer Displays 'Kill Trump' Symbolism in Background During Sunday Interview | 19 Oct 2020 | Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) in an interview on national TV yesterday portrayed symbols in the background that can be interpreted as 'Kill Trump.' Some individuals on Twitter shared their observations from yesterday's interview with Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer... Whitmer's [state shut-down] actions were challenged in court and the Michigan Supreme Court unanimously said Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s attempt to continue a state of emergency after April 30, 2020 without legislative approval was illegal. Additionally, in a 4-3 decision, the Court ruled that the Emergency Powers of Governor Act of 1945, which Governor Whitmer argued allowed her to maintain unilateral control for an indefinite period, is unconstitutional.

English Faculty Vote to Change Name to 'Department of Literatures in English' --English department faces a name change, an initiative led by two Cornell professors | 14 Oct 2020 | During the English department's first faculty meeting of the fall semester, faculty members of color introduced a proposal -- to change the department's name. The new proposed name -- "the department of literatures in English" -- would mark a distinct change in the department's branding, helping to eliminate what Director of Undergraduate Studies Prof. Kate McCullough, English, said was the "conflation of English as a language and English as a nationality." Earlier this month, a significant majority of the department approved the change, and is now awaiting approval from college administration. The decision to demand such a change was spurred by this summer's resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement following George Floyd's death, according to Prof. Carole Boyce-Davies, English, one of the original proposal writers.

Supreme Court declines to block Pennsylvania mail-in ballot extension --The court tied 4-4, with Chief Justice John Roberts joining the three liberal justices to let a state court ruling stand. | 19 Oct 2020 | An evenly divided Supreme Court said Monday it is declining to block a Pennsylvania state court ruling allowing mail-in ballots in the crucial battleground state to be counted as long as they're postmarked by Election Day, even if they arrive up to three days later. The order from the high court is a victory for Democrats, as the presidential campaigns prepare for an all-out battle for the state's 20 electoral votes. The justices offered no explanation for their decision. Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh all noted, without further comment, they would have granted Republicans' application for a stay.

Ballot drop box in LA County set on fire, prompting arson investigation --No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made | 20 Oct 2020 | A ballot drop box in Los Angeles County was deliberately set on fire Sunday evening and police have opened an arson investigation. The apparent arson took place around 8:30 p.m. in the 4100 block of Baldwin Park Boulevard in Baldwin Park, a small city about 20 miles east of Los Angeles. Crews responded to the fire, which was just outside the city's public library, and extinguished the flames, Fox 11 Los Angeles reported.

All the most egregious deep-state sacks of garbage: Biden eyes GOP [Never-Trumper] candidates for Cabinet slot--Progressives fret as Joe Biden's transition team vets a handful of Republicans for his potential administration. | 20 Oct 2020 | Joe Biden's transition team is vetting a handful of Republicans for potential Cabinet positions -- despite doubts it will win him new support from the right and the risk it will enrage the left. Among the names being floated for possible Biden Cabinet posts are Meg Whitman, the CEO of Quibi and former CEO of eBay, and former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, both of whom spoke at August's Democratic National Convention. Massachusetts GOP Gov. Charlie Baker and former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) have also been mentioned, as has former Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.), who resigned from Congress in 2018 and became a lobbyist

Biden falsely claims union endorsement during ABC town hall | 17 Oct 2020 | Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden pushed back at a town hall Thursday against suspicion from a boilermakers union member regarding his position on fracking by insisting that the union endorsed him, when no such endorsement appears to have been given. During the ABC event, host George Stephanopoulos brought up Biden's claim that he does not want to ban fracking, while noting that Boilermakers Local 154 member Sean Steffee told the New York Times that this is inconsistent with his goal of ending the use of fossil fuels. "The boilermakers overwhelmingly endorse me, okay?" Biden responded. "So the Boilermakers Union has endorsed me because I sat down with them, went into great detail with leadership, exactly what I would do, number one." The International Boilermakers Union, however, made it clear on its website that it has not endorsed anyone. The Local 154 endorsed President Trump in a September message from business leader John Hughes.

Ghislaine Maxwell loses bid to keep her Jeffrey Epstein testimony secret | 19 Oct 2020 | A U.S. appeals court on Monday dealt Ghislaine Maxwell a blow by refusing to block the release of a deposition she gave concerning her relationship with the late financier and registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan said there was a presumption the public had a right to see Maxwell's 418-page deposition, which was taken in April 2016 for a now-settled civil defamation lawsuit against her. In an unsigned order, the court also said U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska in Manhattan did not abuse her discretion in rejecting Maxwell's "meritless arguments" that her interests superseded that presumption.
