What could be the cause on this on new installation?

Hi Raphael,
Please crosscheck if $i2ce_site_i2ce_path variable in your config file is pointing correctly to I2CE and you have the mysql database created and properly referenced with var $i2ce_site_dsn in your config file.

Try to install php-xml by flowing command : sudo apt-get install php-xml

Install php-xml  with sudo apt install php-xml 
Looks like that package wasn’t installed

PHp-XML is already installed.

php-xml set to manually installed.

Please try restarting apache and memcache

and then restart the installation process
if php-xml is there then you should get past that error.
Run below commands to restart apache, memcached and restart installation process

sudo service apache2 restart && sudo service memcached restart
php /var/www/html/your_site_name/index.php --update=1 --force-restart=1
