Friends,
We are going to have to change the themes for the following two
playgroups. We are going to have first the Safety Street playgroup on
Thursday 4/7, and the Be Bear Aware playgroup on Thursday 4/14.

The reason is that I have invited Cathy Macchio from the Wildlife
Northwest Stewards group to talk about the wildlife in our backyards.
And she just wrote me to tell me that something came up and she needs
to change the date of her presentation.

It will be something very simple, but still I think that as moms we
should know what to do in case we see a wild animal! Specially if we
have our kids with us. She will be answering questions too.

Cathy is one of the Neighborhood Wildlife Stewards from Issaquah
Highlands, the stewards are passionate about teaching our community
how to live safely and responsibly with bears and other wildlife in
our backyards.

She will bring bear fur, skulls and tracks that kids will be able to
touch. She will also bring books to read to the kids, and some
coloring books that the kids will be able to take home. These coloring
books I asked her to donate to our group because the information that
they contain is very good and clear. It's a great way to teach our
kids what to do in case they see a bear! And the way we can
differentiate a black bear from a grizzly bear, etc.

And this coming Thursday, Natalia is in charge with the theme of
Street Safety. Thanks Nati!
It's Spring Break and we will have siblings too, if we are too many
and the weather is nice we should try to have our circle time at the
park.

I also got donated goody bags from Kumon that I will bring to the
playgroup this Thursday. I went to talked to Cindy McVay at the Kumon
of our neighborhood, and she was so nice to give us the goodie bags
for the kids. It is always exciting for the kids to leave with a bag
full of surprises!

See you all in Blakely Hall!
