Thank you Lara & FEMA materials

Hi amigas,
First at all, thank you Lara for the banking themed playgroup! The
kids had fun decorating the little boxes.

Now, I want to tell you about something that has been on my mind.
After hearing about the sad news from Japan, I am wondering about how
prepared we are for a natural disaster. And this is something that has
been on my mind for a while. So much, that I wrote to FEMA in January
asking them for materials that will help us get ready and guide us on
how to talk to our kids about the earthquakes and natural disasters
that are prevalent where we live. I got the materials and I want to
give them to you this Thursday. I am not going to comment anything
about this topic with the kids, because first at all, the majority are
not going to understand it and second, because I believe that this
topic can be very traumatic for a kid to learn and every parent should
choose when and how to talk to your kids about it.

I hope the materials will help all of us to get ready in case of a
natural disaster and also to be ready to talk to our kids about them.

thanks a lot Ali for getting a hold of these materials for us..I
believe it is sooo important for everyone to be ready for any natural
disasters and to get our kids as ready as possible too..I agree with
the idea of not talking about it on Thursday since each parent should
decide how and when they want to present the info to the kids...there
are some little ones that would not completly get it and the older
ones could get scared if the message is not delivered in a way they
would understand best..so lets leave it uo to the parents..:)
