Hi everybody,
Here I am sending you the lyrics of the two Spanish songs that we sing
a lot during the playgroup. I am sorry that it took me so long to send
you this. Natalia wrote them and I translated them for you.

And I want to tell you something about the Spanish word "manito",
which means little hand. In most Latin-American countries people use
the word "manito" for little hand, but in Mexico and in Spain, people
says: manita. However, both forms are correct. Natalia is from
Argentina and she grew up saying manito, and I am from Mexico and I
grew up saying manita. So, you can teach the song to your kids with
"manito" or "manita"!
Alicia

Las manitos
Saco una manito, la hago bailar,
la cierro, la abro, la vuelvo a guardar.

Saco la otra manito, la hago bailar,
la cierro, la abro, la vuelvo a guardar.

Saco las dos manitos las hago bailar,
las cierro, las abro, las vuelvo a guardar.

Saco un piecito lo hago bailar,
lo subo, lo bajo, lo vuelvo a guardar

Saco el otro piecito, lo hago bailar,
lo subo, lo bajo, lo vuelvo a guardar

Saco los dos piecitos, los hago bailar,
los subo, los bajo, los vuelvo a guardar.

Little hands
I take out a little hand, I make it dance,
I close it, I open it, and I stored it again.

I take out the other little hand, I make it dance,
I close it, I open it, and I stored it again.

I take out the two little hands, I make them dance,
I close them, I open them, and I stored them again.

I take out a little foot, I make it dance,
I put it up, I put it down, and I stored it again.

I take out the other little foot, I make it dance,
I put it up, I put it down, and I stored it again.

I take out two little feet, I make them dance,
I put them up, I put them down, and I stored them again.

Cha, cha, cha
Mi cuerpo, mi cuerpo, hace música,
mi cuerpo, mi cuerpo, hace música.

Mis manos hacen: clap, clap, clap.
Mis pies hacen: pum, pum, pum.
Mi boca dice: la, la, la.
Mi cintura hace: cha, cha, cha.

Cha, cha, cha. Cha, cha, cha.
Mi cintura hace: cha, cha, cha.

Clap, clap, clap. Clap, clap, clap.
Mis manos hacen clap, clap, clap,

Pum, pum, pum. Pum, pum, pum.
Mis pies hacen pum, pum, pum.

La, la, la. La la, la.
Mi boca dice: la, la, la.

Cha, cha, cha
My body, my body, makes music,
my body, my body, makes music.

My hands do: clap, clap, clap.
My feet do: pum, pum, pum.
My mouth says, la, la, la.
My waist ago: cha, cha, cha.

Cha, cha, cha, cha, cha, cha.
My waist ago: cha, cha, cha.

Clap, clap, clap. Clap, clap, clap.
My hands do: clap, clap, clap,

Pum, pum, pum. Pum, pum, pum.
My feet do: pum, pum, pum.

La, la, la. La la, la.
My mouth says: la, la, la.

:0) Thanks Alicia, I always thought I was the only one that sang "manita". Got to love the Spanish language!

Quick note, on our craft tomorrow we will be working with a some paint. So make sure to dress your kids with cloths that is okay to get dirty or bring an old t-shirt to put on top.

See you tomorrow!

Hi everyone! I just heard on the Ron and Don radio show on Kiro FM
about an airlift supply mission they are doing to benefit 63 orphans
in an orphanage in Japan. They are asking for donations of supplies of
food, blankets, clothing, etc. I was thinking we could take up a
collection of money or supplies at playgroup tomorrow for anyone who
would like to contribute. I am planning to buy some items at costco
tomorrow, and I can use any money collected to purchase more items
there to donate. I will be happy to drive everything to the radio
station tomorrow afternoon. They are taking everything over to japan
next week on an Airforce plane. Sorry this is really short notice, but
I just heard about it.
Thank you everyone! See you tomorrow.

Hello again everyone. Here is the link for the Ron and Don show regarding the Japanese orphanage I spoke about last week in case you wanted a little more information. They are still collecting food and new or very gently used clothes and supplies. It sounds like they have children ages 3-17. I will be collecting supplies and money next Thursday if you would like to contribute. I will take any money donated to Costco and buy food and bottled water. Thanks again!
