Dear friends
As I was reading the news and links i happen to come across a link from some of us remembering jay sood on his b day. Although it has been not a while ago that he passed away his friendship touched a lot of us in different ways. We can each reflect back on these moments and we all have something good to say. Nevertheless less one thing that comes to my mind is that have we done enough  in return ?
Going  this far has been very  painful to me as we have done what we could do in terms of condolences and reassurance and most times it is very valuable. But is it enough
We are all grate full to have what we have and I understand that these are difficult times for some of us it would be a great call to our consciousness if we could co ordinate an effort to collect what we can afford to give to his family mainly to his kids.
I could take the responsibility here in the sates and coordinate with everyone in canada as well. I have spoken to pullock in lucknow and jackie or rina ( jackie your cell number listed on the site is wrong) if you can take the lead in india, it will be awesome
Ramnath you are the closest to his family you must be having bharatis latest info feel free to share and let us try and put all our thoughts together in a forum and see what we can come up with.I have a lot of confidence in the possibilities and also the philanthropists in all of us.
Thank you for your thoughts, never knew that this day would come to this.

yes
Absoloutely i think that if we can come up with a fund with the kids in mind an fixed deposit towards their education it would be a great start for them, with a cordinated effort we will require around 30 days here in the states to send the money to you or jackie and then go from there.
i thank you all as i would be lost and wouldn't know where to begin.
ANY IDEA WHAT BHARATIS QULIFICATIONS ARE AND WHAT FIELD SHE MAYBE INTERESTED IN?

Lets rephrase that one - DONATION - NO

Contribution to a fund YES !!!!

From all the interactions I've had with Bharati after the passing of Jay it seems to me that she will never accept any monetary assistance from anyone!!! She has moved on to Calcutta and is living in her brother's apartment in Behala with a condition that she pay a token rent! That speaks a lot of what she stands for and I salute that spirit in her. I have since then lost in touch with her as she has disconnected her Goa numbers and got new connections - though she promised she would never loose touch.

I know for a fact that she is looking for a job which will pay her well yet give her time to be there for the children I had put her on to Arati Jain Sharma but I doubt if anything has come out of it - I am extremely anxious to find a way of getting in touch with her.

I am game for suggestions of
way that we can stand by her for dear Jay coz I know he would have always stood by us in our time of need - Ramanath please update the numbers and address if you can of Bharati

Arup what was it that you were looking at doing I am sure a decent sum collected and put in as an  FD for the kids will help in a big way - what ever we do lets do it soon.

I guess I will be the bad guy and say it - if Jay's family has
already said no to the idea, it is very rude to disregard her opinion
and still go ahead with the fund raising. No doubt it is a fabulous
idea, but the final say should and is rests with Jay's family. All I
can do is put myself in her place and I think I would be insulted if
you are trying to push money on my family members inspite my
objections.
Read- do you think I dont know what is best for my kids. are you
saying that I am so poor that I can not afford education, are you
saying I cannot support my own, are you doing this because I am
female, how would you know what Jay wanted after 20 yrs while I was
there with him, etc etc....
Just saying................... I will probably still do as everyone
decides< but please consider all the reciprocations and intuitions.

yes that thought occoured to me as well that is why we proposed a foroum, and one of the points that ramnath bought up was that he would talk to bharati informally and let us know what we can do. If we do something it would be for a impact for the family in a positive way so that it is beneificial to them as a whole and we resolve a part of their issues, all we can do is wait for other people in the group and see what they think.
thanks for the angle and the thoughts playing the devils advocate very thoughtful.
Ramnath we shall wait patiently on hearing from you
thnks
