ISLAMABAD: The Senate is set to take up a 50-point agenda, including eight bills aimed at providing “inexpensive and speedy justice”, when it will meet on Monday.

AFGHANISTAN | Migrant Crisis: Refugee numbers reach 60m

Record numbers of migrants have burst through international borders this year as the number of ‘forcibly displaced’ people reaches 60m for the first time ever. Experts say the global refugee crisis has led to there being one migrant for every 122 people on earth. The latest figures for migrants across the world were released in a UN report, revealing record numbers of people fleeing war, conflict and poverty. And shocking results showed every day for the first six months of 2015, around 4,600 people fled their home.

AFGHANISTAN | UAE Red Crescent provides relief items to needy people in Kabul

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Red Crescent with cooperation of the UAE’s embassy in Afghanistan distributed relief items among160 needy families here on Sunday. Head of UAE Red Crescent, Saalem Ahmad Saalem Malih, said that the UAE Red Crescent resumed its humanitarian efforts in Afghanistan and assisted 160 needy families in Kabul city.He said that the relief item included a bag of flour, 10kg sugar, two kg tea, three kg salt, 46kg coal, five liters of cooking oil and two blankets.

Highways and Higher Education Minister Lakshman Kiriella, in an interview with Daily Mirror, says the 13th Amendment to the present Constitution, should be the basis for finding a solution to the national question. INDIA | Kerala becomes 1st state in country to achieve 100% primary education

"Kerala has become the first state in the country to achieve total primary education. This has been achieved through the primary education equivalency drive of the state literacy mission — Athulyam.
