PAKISTAN | Senate committee to review acts passed by parliament

ISLAMABAD: The Senate is set to form a new committee to review all acts passed by the parliament and suggest framing of rules necessary for their implementation and to see if the existing rules are in accordance with the spirit of the law.

AFGHANISTAN | Afghan repatriates, IDPs need urgent support

Releasing a report, the AIHRC has expressed concern over increased number of repatriates and IDPs in the country. Chairwoman of AIHRC, Sima Samar who was addressing a media gathering here the other day said, “In 2009, the number of IDPs was 420665, but in August of 2015 this number increased to 1257552.

AFGHANISTAN | Danesh says law can provide stability


Second Vice President, Sarwar Danesh said on Sunday that the law is made and enforced to provide stability in the relevant affairs.The Bakhtar News Agency reported that in the session of the Law Committee, Danesh said that sudden amendments in the laws and the law enforcement system cause the loss of those who observe the law. He asked the government organs particularly the in charge ones to pay attention to the origin of the stability in the law enforcement system.

INDIA | Poverty makes couple give up their sickly infant for adoption

Driven by poverty, a couple recently handed over their infant son to a childless couple – only to have local residents complain to the police that he was sold off to them. While officers ruled out any monetary transaction in this regard, they returned the child to its biological parents on Friday because the adoption procedure was allegedly illegal.
