Hey everyone,

I hope you are all having a lovely holiday. schurko good times at the
bar crawl though patty and i only lasted like 3 bars haha... anyways,
i was thinking we should have some type of event for the one year
anniversary of the earthquake in haiti. i have a few ideas and id
love to hear yours:

1. letter writing campaign to encourage the US to actually send the
aid they promised
2. some sort of vigil type thing, invite haitian community members
(sally, haiti coalition?)
3. speaker from the haitian community?

Jan 12 is a Wednesday so I think it would be a good day to have an
event. Let's see if we can pull something together.

Great idea! We def should do something like this. I think you should email Dean Sackey to see if the school has anything official planned and if not-- offer to organize a little something. 

 

I saw a really great video from Tim Traynor that we could show ~ 12 mins at a lunch time thing. I could help find a speaker as well, it would be awesome to put out some feelers and try to get a newly emmigrated haitian to speak about the past year for them. Let me know what you want and I'll try to get it.

Great idea. Anyone know about a larger letter writing campaign that we could participate in? Or should write or own?ill look into what is out there. Sal maybe you could ask haitian coalition if they have speaker ideas? Ok. Getting inspired. Miss you guys. Really.
