fyi i am meeting with dean sackey tomorrow or thursday and i am putting pressure on dr pearlmutter to get us an answer as to how to involve the M14's as soon as they can.

Things I've heard about the process so far:
there have been several meetings w kuhlik sackey pearlmutter shlaff and hyde, they seem to be the main players not up on the project and available as mentors. i heard hyde is really interested in taking more of a leadership role on the project in general.

I am working with three girls (one of whom's mom is VP for vaccines at merck) to start to brainstrom what they might be able to write up as a grant proposal. I know you guys are doing the same, pursuing things with different students. I think the plan should be to continue to do this slowlyish as I put pressure on sackey and pearlmutter and hopefully in a few weeks we'll have a slightly prepared group of students ready to write some quick and dirty grant proposals as soon as we get the go ahead.

I will let y'all know if i figure anything out. in the meantime keep us posted if you guys are makin headway anywhere.

ps everyone asked about each of you last week (well no one asked about lily directly, rather a nurse came up and hugged me and called me lily)

Hi Dr Pearlmutter,

1 For each of the three projects worked on this summer, we have found 1,2 students in the class below us interested in working on them. Our core group has been asking for direction as to specifically how we can get M'14 class involved and we haven't heard much for the 'up aboves'. The deadlines for Tisch are less than 8 weeks away and more importantly students are getting anxious to decide on their summer plans or move on to something else.  By this time last year we had gathered into a group, had a rough idea of what we wanted to do, were filling out grants and had Dean Sackey as our mentor. SO we have been meeting with these students and are ready to set them up as the 7-8 students who will actively begin working on a specific project under a mentor. Would you please give me a call at your convenience to direct me as to how to best craft this new group?

There is a group of 3 (one of whom's mother is the VP of vaccines at merck) who I am having a meeting with lunch on thursday to brainstorm a project for them to go off and look into and write up a proposal. I know you are slammed, no expectations at all, but if you are around and could make it Thursday 12:00 please let me know.

2 I have a pap test for St E's so if you are at school maybe I can leave it in the OSA for you.

Thanks!
Sally

thanks for keeping us updated.
we've got two dudes working diligently and are hoping to send them
down with Pearlmutter for our first round of education over their
spring break. but we'll go slowlyish. or, at least, at a medium
pace.
