Dear IHE and HL7 Pharmacy members,
The IHE MPD profile is ready for publication. You can preview it here:
As discussed during our calls, IHE and HL7 Europe have collaborated intensively to produce guidance - global (IHE) and European (HL7 EU).
We designed this implementation to be used for all systems using FHIR for prescriptions. This goal is supported by the extensive collaboration, and also the fact this is a Gemini project, therefore with the input and effort from HL7 International + IHE International.
Therefore we want to expose it to the broad community, looking for input and already allowing downstream dependencies, notably some EU specifications that may already be based on this IHE profile.
I wish to thank everyone for the contribution and support in preparing this profile since we first discussed "Prescription on FHIR" several years ago and have prepared this for quite a while.
Besides my gratitude, I also leave two requests:
1. Since this is an IHE Ballot, I would ask all current IHE members to share, latest by Monday 5th May, their agreement or blocking concerns for publishing this guide as is, as a draft release, for public comment.
2. Because this is also a Gemini specification, I will propose this to be discussed in the HL7 Pharmacy meeting Monday 5th, for the HL7 Pharmacy group to be able to express their agreement or any blocking objections.
As (acting) IHE Pharmacy co-chair, I will ensure the formalities are followed so that we can publish within the next few days.
(Forgive the cross-posting, this is a Gemini project and lots of people have helped, so we have to reach out to everyone)
Thank you again.
José Costa Teixeira
