Dear All,
I just want to bring to your attention an interesting recent study shows that the MAMMO CAD are not effective in improving the breast cancer detection.
Does anybody from the MAMMO radiologists have an opinion on this study?
Best regards,
Ellie
Hello Ellie,
There are always several good articles that support the benefits of CAD, but whenever there is a negative study, it seems to get a lot of attention. Unfortunately this is another continuation of Dr. Fenton’s work with a flawed methodology. I have attached a statement for our response to this article that basically states that iCAD was not involved with the study, that FFDM technology was not used, that the study only looks at whether CAD improved breast cancer detection when used by community radiologists, and that the study was based on an older version of CAD technology.
Anyone with concerns about this study can contact our Regulatory Department as referenced in the attachment.
Regards,
Topher Gedeon
