Dear MarCom colleagues,

since I have connected you I have not seen any further communication. It’s already very late and we still have a lot to do.

I have received the following email from Michael Strübin (MedTech Europe), who looked at our current marketing from an outsider perspective and sees a huge potential for improvement.

He mentioned the following points:

1.      Why don't you work with supporting organizations that get a free ticket and advertise the Summit?

a.      I think there is a lot of willingness (MedTech Europe would do that immediately for example), but you have to create a structure for this. It's almost too late now.

2.      Registration: You have a government rate of 390 EUR? You won't get NO from the commission: they don't pay.

3.      There is no NGO / nonprofit rate? Then people don't come (patients, doctors, stakeholders etc.). It would be even better ...

a.      (HIMSS for example offers the HIMSS member rate for HIMSS events also for members of supporting organizations.)

4.      Why are there no media partners? Politico, ehealthnews.eu, e-health-com, or, low hanging fruit, HIMSS? If you only use IHE channels for marketing, then you only get the IHE community.

To the points:

·        Ad 1) There was a concept approved for that – what’s the status in this? We need to go out with that asap

·        Ad 2) Do you agree that the gov rate is too high? If yes, what shall we do?

·        Ad 3) Shall we introduce such a NGO rate?

·        Ad 4) Media Partners: WE NEED TO DO THAT!! Who is taking care on that?

Action items:

·        Jürgen/IHE EU MarCom: The Sponsoring Package will be finished next week. MedTech Europe has bought in already. COCIR is asked pending answer. Shall we ask HIMSS too? Other candidates (we need 4)?

·        Jürgen: A marketing package + mailing for National Deployment Committees will be finished next week latest. I will send out on IHE Int Board and IHE-EU SC mailing list

·        Jürgen: I take care on the finalization of the program, gather pics and bios of speakers and their registration

Request to IHE EU MarCom / IHE Int MarCom:

Urgent: Please could you send me over all links to Social Media Posts / Newsletters / etc. you have sent out on your channels so far ASAP – I need to include them in my mailing to the DCs. Many thanks!

Best,

Jürgen

Hi,

please let me connect the IHE EU MarCom team with the IHE Int MarCom team (under the lead of Chris Carr).

Chris mentioned that they prepare an international “IHE News” letter for next week. In order to synchronize the two channels (EU and Int), kindly engage in the following:

@IHE-EU MarCom: please could you get in contact directly Chris and supply him with things he needs for sending out. For example, the links to our current social media posts (LinkedIn, Twitter) for him to re-tweet/re-post or other material he needs.

@Chris: Please ask the team whatever you need for. This is material I have:

WS website: https://connectathon.ihe-europe.net/IHE-World-Summit-Symposium

WS FTP (including some marketing material): ftp://ftp.ihe.net/GDC/World%20Summit/Events/2020%2C%20Brussels

Best,

Jürgen

Jurgen,

On question 3, we have answered, but not in general terms.

Indeed, with the European Associations we gave them the IHE Intl Member Rate through a Promotion code.

We could apply it to all NGOs.

The EU Commission is an exception that shall change their attitude.  If we want to target two or three key EU Commission persons (in addition to the speaker) for free, that would be the best approach.

Other government need to contribute to their ehealth strategies and 390 Euros is fair.

My two cents.

Charles
