I was going to not broach this topic until later next year, but the topic has been raised on the FHIR Implementers Skype chat.

What is the roadmap for using FHIR to address the HPD and/or CSD use-cases?

There are FHIR resources and some being developed for DSTU2 that seem aligned.

Practitioner

A person who is directly or indirectly involved in the provisioning of healthcare.

Organization

A formally or informally recognized grouping of people or organizations formed for the purpose of achieving some form of collective action. Includes companies, institutions, corporations, departments, community groups, healthcare practice groups, etc.

HealthcareService

(informative) The details of a Healthcare Service available at a location.

Location

Details and position information for a physical place where services are provided and resources and participants may be stored, found, contained or accommodated.

Scheduling

Creation and management of appointments between patients, practitioners, providers, locations and devices (and optionally others) within slots within a schedule.

Note: The PA work-group would appreciate contributions to enhance the appointment resource(s) to cover additional use-cases if required for implementations.

Hi All,
There is a mapping of the CSD data model has been mapped to FHIR here:
https://github.com/openhie/openinfoman-fhir
For the moment, this has been done for practitioner (CSD provider), organization and location (CSD facility).  As a side note, this is being deployed as part of the ebola response:
has, for example a diagram representing this.

Services and scheduling have not been addressed yet.

Cheers,
-carl

Carl,

Thanks. I will forward this to the FHIR Implementers skype, unless you are also there and can respond directly.

What kind of interest and timing is expected?

Seems this needs to be put on the IHE-HL7 workgroup committee agenda… as soon as that committee gets going.

John
