Gazelle/Cypress design/implementation agenda

Eric and I have one agenda item we would like to cover tomorrow. I am attaching rudimentary slides to start the discussion of the interface between the Control System and the Test Engine. My goal tomorrow is to find some people to work with me on creating a good specification of that design and then to start that work. The slides show the two models that we are considering.
The amount of coupling between the two systems will depend on how well we can separate them. For our collaboration with Laika, the looser the coupling, the better we will be.

I think things have been hectic all the way around. With the vacation season and the NHIN testing event it has been difficult for NIST to devote time to this recently. We'll resume the calls shortly. At the face-to-face Gazelle/Cypress meeting we agreed that a monthly call schedule is more appropriate at this time. With Gazelle and Cypress this should keep us talking every two weeks or so.
I think a fair amount of progress has been made in some of our focus areas since our initial March meeting. Much of this was demonstrated at the face-to-face meeting. Other areas haven't progressed; broader participation is always welcomed.

Just wanted to express my apologies for missing the last couple of Cypress calls. We (CCHIT) remain committed to achieving a common, shared interoperability testing platform.
Last few weeks have been extremely hectic: our 2008 Certification program just launched, and we’re starting up the 2009 criteria development cycle. These events create a large number of interrupts and demands for my time.
As things get back to a more normal load -- hopefully soon -- I should be able to resume participating in Cypress calls and meetings.

I agree with your assessment. The normal cycle for Gazelle would have had a phone call tomorrow. I’m not prepared for that, but hope to get re-organized and have a call on Aug 27 (pending availability of others).
