Dear Sirs,

We are delighted to formally invite you on behalf of Professor Wiro Niessen, director of the EIBIR Biomedical Imaging Platform and Professor of Medical Image Processing in Radiology and Medical Informatics at the Erasmus MC faculty in Rotterdam/NL, and the ESR office to take part at the submission for EIBIR presents: IMAGINE Workshop, the dedicated high-tech speciality workshop at the European Congress of Radiology 2011, which will be held in Vienna from March 3–7, 2011 (Thursday to Monday).

About EIBIR presents: IMAGINE Workshop
EIBIR has the aim of co-ordinating and supporting the development of biomedical imaging technologies and the dissemination of knowledge with the ultimate goal of improving diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. The EIBIR platform supports networking activities in research and is key to spreading good practice, promoting common initiatives and interoperability in the field of biomedical imaging research. This will generate critical mass and help coordinate research into new instrumentation, new methods, concepts and technologies. Instead of showing already available products, it will provide a glance of future developments. EIBIR presents: IMAGINE Workshop has the antenna function for developments soon to come but which are not yet commercially on the market. Therefore EIBIR is going to host IMAGINE to set a new focus on the very well-known onsite exhibition.
Lectures & Guided Tours (Workshop): If accepted, you will have the possibility to present your work within a special session that will take place in the dedicated workshop room. We are planning to have three lecture sessions that will be open to the interested public.
Participants may sign up in advance at the MyUserArea (registration open at the beginning of February). The lectures could be combined with the guided workshop tour through the workshop room of the exhibition.
Focus: The focus will be set on 4 topics
1. Cardiovascular image analysis
2. Neuro image analysis
3. Image analysis in oncology
4. Image guided intervention

Professor Niessen decided to invite you due to your track record in this field.

The new EIBIR presents: IMAGINE Workshop 2011 will include novel developments in quantitative image analysis, integrated analysis and visualisation of multimodal imaging data, sophisticated modelling in pre-operative planning and intra-operative guidance, computer-aided analysis, and more. EIBIR presents: IMAGINE Workshop is unique for providing a platform to discuss the potential of these radiological techniques for the near future, with the people that are creating them.

In addition, of all exhibitors, the accepted abstracts will be listed online.

Abstract Submission:
If you accept this invitation, we kindly invite you to submit your abstract application by December 31. The best 10-15 groups will be selected to present at the workshop.
