For those who don't know about Chicago Public Radio's Chicago
Amplified, I thought I'd post a link: http://www.chicagopublicradio.org/amplified
If you click on Archive, you can see the 5 most recently recorded
events, then using the drop-down menu you can select any Partner (say,
Illinois Humanities Council or University of Chicago to see Irving's
World Beyond the Headlines series) to view their entire cue. Click on
an event title to read a full description and have the opportunity to
listen, download, or e-mail the listing to a friend.
The project was begun a year ago and has grown so quickly - I continue
to be impressed by the qualities of these events and the interest
Partner organizations show to participating in a project like Chicago
Amplified.
I'd love recommendations of organizations or institutions facilitating
educational public programming in the wider-Chicago region as well as
advice or ideas about how to do more with the site (add a comment
field?, allow for more slideshows and embedded additional information
such as .pdfs of reports?, what else?).
