Dear IGV community,

I got a nice alignment of my reads through IGV, and want to show the alignment in my paper.
All I can do is either to use Save Image function or do a screenshot on my Mac.

But I don't think either of them is good for publication.
Can you please show me how to get a high quality image from IGV for publication?

Also, I want to cite IGV in my paper if possible, so pleas let me know what to cite.

Thanks,

Jim Robinson

Hi,

Use the "save image" function and save as an svg file,  which you can then edit in Illustrator or other vector graphic software.   You can also save an image of an individual panel by right-clicking over and selecting "Save image..." from the menu.    If you prefer post script,  see the instructions for enabling EPSGraphics here:  https://www.broadinstitute.org/software/igv/third_party_tools.   This works better for some people, particularly on a Mac.

See the igv home page (http://www.broadinstitute.org/igv) for citation information, and thanks for asking!

Jim
