File format options for Sashimi plot export

Hi, I am working with IGV 2.9.4 on Windows 10. When I try to export a Sashimi plot, there is no drop-down menu with options of different file formats (as it it displayed in the tutorial video), the image gets automatically exported as *.png. However I would strongly prefer the *.svg for later processing. Thank you very much for your help. Misa

Hi,

Sorry - the dialog that comes up when you save the image had to change for reasons too long to go into.  But IGV does still support producing .svg files. If you just change the suffix of the file name from .png to .svg - it will create the correct file, but let us know if you have problems with that.

Hi Helga, thank you very much for your advice, I see now that in the tutorial the Sashimi plot image gets exported as *.png as well. However I would prefer to have the final image in a vector format, that would allow active post-processing in Adobe Illustrator such as the *.svg (with editable individual components of the image). Is there possibly a way to do this? Thanking you sincerely, Misa

Yes. - in the dialog that comes up when you select Save Image in the Sashimi plot, change the suffix that you see in the filename that comes up by default to .svg (from .png). Then when you save the file, IGV will see the suffix to determine which type of file to create, and so if you change it to .svg it will create a file in the svg vector format that you can edit. I've verified this works for me in IGV 2.9.4. I'm running it on a Mac, so let us know if it doesn't work for you.
