I followed the tutorial to build the igv-web application (npm instal; npm build run) and uploaded the dist/* to amazon s3 bucket. The track data seems to be loading but the webpage style (CSS) seems to be messed up:
does anyone know what is happening here?

Not sure, we will try to look into this although I can't reproduce it locally. Could you try pulling from the latest release tag, rather than the tip of master? The tag is "1.3.0".
Also, are you able to deploy this to a non S3 server? That shouldn't make a difference but would be useful information.

deploy to localhost works perfectly normal!
deploy source code to a server also works great: https://igv-test.herokuapp.com
I'll try using 1.3.0 to rebuild the web app, thanks!

checked out tag/1.3.0, rebuilt the app and deployed to s3 buckets - problem still exits:
should be a s3-specific issue I guess...

Its a strange problem. We have an example deployed to s3 here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/igv.org.app/app/index.html
We will look at this with the web inspector in more detail tomorrow. I assume you just built and deployed, keeping directory structure intact.

This warning could have something to do with it, we don't see this warning from our own S3 buckets
Resource interpreted as Stylesheet but transferred with MIME type text/plain: "https://s3.amazonaws.com/zhoup-igv/css/fontawesome/all.css
Is there something about your bucket configuration that could explain this incorrect MIME type?

I really doubt this is the problem, but you can eliminate it as a possibility by setting the mime type of those css files.

It wouldn't hurt. Also see if there is some setting that will do it globally. For some reason we don't have this issue with out buckets.
