cannot create genome file

Hello everyone,

On my version of IGV, I don't have the option 'create .genome File...' that is on the website and that I had on my previous computer, do you know how I could recover this option?

Hi Manon,

You must have been running an old version of IGV on your previous computer because creating a .genome file has not been supported since 2021.

The current format for an IGV reference genome definition is a plain text .json file that can be created in a text editor.

See the section named "IGV reference genome (JSON)" on the Genomes page under File Formats in the IGV Use Guide.

As a starting point you can copy one of the examples there, and then replace the details with the details of your genome.
