Open bam file on S3 storage via ExpanDrive

We are trying to open bam files storage in AWS S3 storage. We are using ExpanDrive to map a network drive (Z:) to the S3 bucket. We can see the folders and objects/files using Windows File Explorer.

When trying to open a bam file, IGV displays the following:

Error loading Z:\LP-WGS_FEB2022\bams\DARB-23.bam: An error occurred while accessing Z:\LP-WGS_FEB2022\bams\DARB-23.bam

Error loading BAM file: htsjdk.samtools.util.RuntimeIOException: java.io.IOException: A device attached to the system is not functioning

Thanks in advance for suggestions/best practices for loading from AWS S3 bucket.
