Hi, I'm having an issue opening this genome file created using IGV. anyone know what might be causing the issue? I have already indexed the file.. so it's fna.fai format...

other reference genome works just fine but whenever I try to use the one we created, giving an issue...(endless loading mode with blue cursor icon)

What file type are you trying to load into IGV and how?
You refer to "this genome file". Were you trying to attach a file? If you want to share the file with us, send email to igv-...@broadinstitute.org and we will reply with a secure dropbox link.

You did not say how you are loading the file, exactly which IGV menu are you using?

Your file loaded fine for me. However there are a couple of minor issues with IGV that makes one think it didn't load:

1) The blue ball kept spinning after the genome loaded successfully. Once you see your genome name in the dropdown box, just click anywhere in the genome ruler and the ball will stop spinning.

2) IGV automatically creates an index file if it can't find one and the same directory as the FASTA file. It turns out that if the fasta is named FILENAME.fna, IGV looks for a file name FILENAME.fai - but your file was FILENAME.fna.fai. So when you loaded the file, IGV first created another index file, which took some time as well.  A workaround is to rename your file.

I don't see the genome name and still seems to be not loaded.
I've changed the format name too, not working..

when you say my file loaded fine for you, were you able to see any genes in your screen? do you mind if you share the screenshot or something? and also, what version are you using?

if it's not the format issue, do you any any other suspicion what might be wrong??

also have noticed that when I tried to get rid of current version of IGV and re-install new IGV, it still retain what I have loaded before. how do I completely remove the record and start again?
