Hello,

I've been using IGV v2.19.4 on a MacBook with macOS 15.5  for several months with no problems until today. When opening the app I get this error:

  Error loading genome hg38
  Connect timed out

And when I try to load my bam files (which i have already opened previously) i get this:

File (....( does not contain any sequence names which match the current genome.
   Sequence names in 'filename': chr10, chr11, chr12, chr13, ...
Sequence names in genome reference sequence: ,

I tried quitting the app and deleting the igv folder and I still get the same error

What should I do? Thanks!

Are you still having this problem? I did the exact same test and it works for me. It could have been a temporary issue with a server.

Note that when you select the genome, you can also choose to download the sequence and/or the annotations (see the radio buttons below the full list of genomes). If you do that (when things are up and running again), then you will be able to use the genome without accessing the internet and you will not have problems with any future server glitches.

Hi

I've tried just now and it works fine, I guess it was a server issue

Thank you!
