Problem in manual loading BAM files with long path name

Dear IGV help,

I am running IGV version 2.7.2 10/21/2019. 

When the same BAM file is accessed through our web link, it works.  Sometimes, we need to manually load the BAM files.  During the manual loading, when I reach the folder with the BAM file, the full file name was replaced with a shortened name.  As a result, the BAM file could not be recognized by IGV and it could not be loaded.  The path to the BAM is long.  When I copy the BAM file to a location with a shorter path, the BAM file can be loaded.  Could you please help me in resolving the issue?  Your help is much appreciated.

Hi Biao,

Sorry for the delay, I've been traveling.   I really don't understand your description of the problem,  however the version you are using is 2 years old.   Please try with the latest version, and if the problem persists we will need to see your "igv.log" file, which you can email privately if you like.
