I am using IGV Desktop v2.19.7 on a Windows 11 system and have encountered an issue with the Ctrl+R (Region Highlight) shortcut.
When I enter a specific gene name or genomic coordinate in the navigation/search bar and press Enter, the view correctly navigates to that location. However, when I then use Ctrl+R, the region highlight does not appear.
I can work around this by using "Define a Region of Interest" to create a smaller event within the displayed window. After doing so, Ctrl+R functions as expected, allowing me to create additional highlighted regions while navigating around the same locus.
However, the issue returns whenever I enter a new gene or coordinate in the navigation bar. At that point, Ctrl+R no longer works until I again create a region manually using "Define a Region of Interest."
Other users running IGV v2.19.7 do not appear to experience this behavior, so I am wondering what might be causing it. Could this be related to a local configuration, a Windows 11 setting, keyboard shortcut conflict, or some other user-specific preference?
