Hi. Our IT department is trying to determine if we can use IGV. Their comment/question is: "Requires a windows 64 bit OS.  We support Windows 7 Service Pack 1. Also, they require the 64 bit version of Java (1.6 or higher) many time the 32 bit version will be installed. Can we verify that it is supported on Windows 7 Service Pack 1?"

Can anyone help answer this question please?

Hi,

IGV does not require 64 bit java,  but it is recommended.   If running a 32 bit java you will be limited to the low-memory version  (the 750 MB link on the downloads page).

I can't answer questions about windows service packs,  I would refer you to microsoft documentation.     64 bit Java can be installed on any 64 bit windows OS,  see the Oracle java downloads page for more information.
