Hi

I love iSkins but for the last wee while the skins haven't been
sticking. IE if I click to select a certain skin, it loads as normal
but if I refresh the page its gone again. i don't think its actually a
problem with the gadget as the official skins don't even stay up to
the refresh they just flash on and then off again after selection. Its
probably a browser setting I haven't figured but i thought you'd prob
be the best person to tell me exactly what it could be. i am using
firefox portable 2.0.0.11 but I have the same prob using IE so maybe a
proxy prob...
I have tried re-in-lining the module to no effect.
thanks so much for maybe taking the time to look at this :)

This sounds suspicious. If it won't even settings when you are not
using the skins gadget, I think something else is going on. Do you by
any chance have a load of gadgets / tabs? Can you confirm that a
setting from another gadget (any other gadget) is successfully saved?
E.g. add the weather gadget and edit settings to set your location. If
the location has been lost when the page reloads something else is
going on.

Any javascript errors? Try the gadget in a new tab with no other
gadgets.

This sounds like a problem which others have experienced -not a per
browser problem- whereby iGoogle simply refuses to store settings.
Hopefully your reply will have more details.

Let me know how you get on!

Hey I tried what you said with a new empty tab with the same results
the first time round, but the official Google skins stuck this time,
so I tried the iskins again and it worked, same went for my main tab.
weird that it suddenly started working cos I spent about an hour
fiddling around with it the other day. thanks for your help :) cos I
love the summer theme it brightens up my desktop!

Glad it's working for you know :) Nothing has changed with the skins
gadget so I it's either another gadet interfering or iGoogle not
setting prefs. Did you remove any other gadget on any other tabs
before it started working?

Take a look at this thread - in particular the last 4 or 5 posts. It
may help you. I'm not at all sure if it's the exact same problem but
prefs not being remember is a common theme.
