One thing that I'd love to see at Ignite Portland 2 is a (or many) live video stream(s). I know it's easy to do  - ustream.tv, operator11, Qik, etc. all make it easy. I don't know what the wifi situation is at the Bagdad theater (read: I don't think there's any, so don't count on it), so it would have to be done over a cellular connection. All you need is a cheap webcam, or heck, even the built in webcam in your laptop. Or you could get really fancy and do it from your cell phone (I'm looking at your, Jason ;-).

I'm thinking show the presentations while they're running, and mingle around and chat with people in between. Have fun with it.

So, who has experience with this, and wants to do a live video stream of Ignite Portland 2? :-

Josh,

The Bagdad DOES have wifi. With hundreds using it, it might get choked
so cell might still be the best bet. But it's available.

Is Alpha Geek TV still going? That could be a good option.

John Hartman? Yeah, I hope he comes, but I don't know.

Johnny? Consider this the Bat Signal. We need you! ;-)

Excellent! So you'll be streaming live? Can we link to/promo you leading up to the event, for people who can't attend in person?

Also, if there's anyone else out there interested in live streaming, the more the merrier.

And we want to encourage anyone who can to shoot video of the event. That is, if video is "your thing" (you know who you are). Don't ruin your enjoyment of the night running a video camera if you don't want to! :-)

There's a chance we might be able to do some REALLY cool stuff with multiple videos of the night with a cool piece of unreleased software I saw demoed at PME (ooh! suspense!)

If you shoot video at Ignite Portland 2, let me know after the fact, and we'll make sure we at least get links to your video, post it to the Ignite blip account, etc.
