Dear friends,

Many of us are very keen to do something useful this summer, so we have talked to a few friends, who will be happy if you could participate in their work this summer. In each case, local hospitality will be arranged but you will have to make your own travel arrangements. Here are the options:

1. Jan Jagran Shakti Sangathan (Araria, Bihar):  Volunteers are needed for conducting social audits and surveys of the ICDS in East Chamaparan in collaborations with the ICDS directorate (Bihar) and other organisations.  Audit activities may also be undertaken in other districts. Please send your queries to ashish.r...@gmail.com or call at 09973363664. Deadline 20th April, 2012.

2. Chaupal (Surguja, Koriya and Jashpur, Chhattisgarh): Monitoring of anganwadis in collaboration with the district administration and NREGA Sahayata Kendra. Survey on nutrition status among tribal and PTG communities, help in Jan Adhikar Sahyog Kendras - Help centres on all government schemes (focus on food schemes) run by Chaupal, mostly situated within Janpad Office, survey on MNREGA. Contact: sulaksha...@gmail.com or chaup...@gmail.com or call Sulakshana at 9406090595

3. Shanta Kumar (Sonebhadra, Uttar Pradesh): Shanta Kumar is an alumnus of IIT and working at NTPC. He would like to conduct a small survey of food security schemes in a Dalit basti near Chopan and needs volunteers to teach in schools around NTPC. Contact: 8874570341

4. People's Union for Civil Liberties (Jaipur, Rajasthan): Helping with human rights campaigns, especially food security programmes. Contact: kavi...@gmail.com

If you are interested in participating, we request you to fill this form and submit your c.v. Our friends and collaborators will then go through your application and be in touch with you directly about dates and other logistic issues.

Regards,
Jean and Reetika
