We, in IIT, enjoy probably the most subsidized life and facilities, for
which our society is directly or indirectly contributing. Many of
you must be thinking about some way of repaying this debt, and we are
here with just that opportunity.
Seva Sahyog (SS), a coordinating body of various NGOs is offering
summer internships for undergraduate students. The NGOs work in
various sectors such as education, microfinance, rural development
etc. The projects an intern would be exposed to include:
1. Documentation of the NGO’s activities
2. Developing websites for the NGOs
3. Developing education curriculum
4. Working on the model of working of Self help groups
5. Visit and documentation of Ekal Vidyalya at Arunachal Pradesh.
Although SS has currently offered above projects for interns with
technical background, those who want to do some field-work can also
forward their applications, specifically mentioning so. SS will take
care of the intern’s lodging and boarding, but being a
non-profit organization itself, it will not be able to provide any
stipend. Nevertheless, it will be a great learning experience.
Kindly send your resume and contact details by mail to Surendra Meena
(suren...@gmail.com) by Sunday, April 8. Do mention your area of
interest in the mail (education or microfinance or rural development,
etc.).The details of NGOs matching the applicant’s interests will be
forwarded to them by Tuesday, April 10. For more details contact:

About Seva Sahyog:
Seva Sahayog (SS) is the India Partner of Sewa International which
aims at engaging socially conscious corporate, groups and individuals,
with NGOs of matching interests. The NGOs in Seva Sahayog network are
those, who have demonstrated a
sound and robust record in grassroots work, but lack resources such as
technology, finance and human resources - to take their work to the
next level. The SS network aims at effectively channelizing these
resources to the NGOs. The core team of SS is composed of volunteers
highly placed in IT and other corporate entities. Members of the core
team have grass roots
exposure with various NGOs in various sectors and have worked
dedicatedly for development initiatives. Seva Sahayog is thus powered
with a unique skill set of deep understanding of grass roots realities
and a clear vision of the role corporate India can play to support
community initiatives.
