Dear Colleagues,
Last chance to hire a computational intern for the summer! We have 7 interns so far but I would love to get 9-10.  Attached is the updated spreadsheet showing which ones are taken so far.

There are some impressive students in the pool.  For example, I see several JHU undergrads with GPAs of 3.8 or better, currently undergrads in BME which is a very challenging program. There are also undergrads from Brown, Cornell, and Tufts in the list.  (Presumably they live in Baltimore because we don't give them any housing help.)  Plus there are some very motivated high school students.

If you can support an intern, please let us (Liliana Florea, flo...@jhu.edu) is running the program) know by this weekend.  We plan to let the interns know by Monday.  Remember that it is entirely appropriate for a postdoc or even an advanced grad student to supervise a summer project.

thanks!
Steven

p.s. reminder: What you need to provide: (1) a small stipend, and (2) optionally, a desk with a computer.  We have about 5 cubicles (and computers) available for those who don't have space in their labs.  The stipend is about $2400 for high school and $4400 for college students.

We arrange weekly meetings for all the interns to learn about other work in CCB. Towards the end of the summer, they present their work to us in a small workshop.  Here is the link to the full applications:  https://jshare.johnshopkins.edu/lflorea1/bx-internships%202014/ (select 'Open Web View' to see it formatted for web browsers). They are split into College, CTY-HS ('gifted and talented' high-school students recruited for us by the CTY), and HS - high-school students who applied directly to us.
