downloading file on server from file system

hi!! i want to know how we can download file on server from the file system using grails service because i don't have access to controllers... plsss let me know how i can do it...... an example with code will go the long way...

hi!!.... sorry for not being clear what i need i that i want to upload some video from flex client using grails on beckend while storing thme on file system say c:/vid and then when the user request the same video  first i have to read video from the file make it available to grails then send it using some service or controller to send it to client so that user can view it......
 
now one more problem is that flex video component takes only url or file location as object how can i display the video in video player....
 
 
it very urgent plss help to get out of this hell.......

Hi Anand,

Please check out the video players online. You can check out flow player or JW player. You can use these players and then give the location of your swf which will be streamed automatically. Hope this is what you are looking for.

thanks Venki, for reply yea i know about that and i want to play flv file and somehow i have been able to upload the flv file into the filesystem in c: drive now the problem is how i can send it to flex client so that i can play it on client system .... one more thing that it takes only urp or path how can i enable it to take the file system path from the local host ... how can i ....
