"It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by the dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions and spends himself in a worthy cause; ... so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat."

Hello Jaco!

It's really a pleasure to meet you! We all warmly welcome you to our community.

Several months ago we got together with the common concern to foster the possibility of more complete remote attendance at the upcoming IGF. Our idea was to help to provide a service that would benefit the people who are unable to attend the IGF.
Up to now, we have been working with two axes:
1) Combine the webcast of the IGF with a platform for interaction, which would be available before, during and after the meeting. For that, we have been exploring the possibilities of different programs.

2) To develop partnerships with regional organizations and communities with the aim to create local IGF hubs. These hubs would be local meetings, which would exhibit the webcast of the IGF as well as hold panels and roundtables, to discuss the themes of the IGF from a local perspective.

Nevertheless, we were recently told that the Secretariat would endorse only the second one. The first axe will be completely under the responsibility of the Secreatariat and the host country. For this reason, we will focus our effort on the hubs from now on. We are looking for local organizations who wish to organize them. If you think of someone who could be interested, don't hesitate to tell us. There's not much requirements. For more info you can take at look at the faq and the hubs section at www.igfremote.com

Welcome again!
Best wishes,

Marília
