hi everybody

i am speaking to a number of people about the remote hubs - one key question i really do not have an answer to is: how do we deal with the time difference???

there is 12.5 hours time difference from hydarabat to san francisco, 9.5 to the US west coast- it's less of a problem for potential european hubs, but still if IGF sessions run till around 18.00...

ideas?

best

"It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by the dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions and spends himself in a worthy cause; ... so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat."

Max,

The only solution I see is using the webcast records for a more convenient time in each hub and then sending their questions or reports to IGF after (of course this part is not ideal, because they will miss the interaction, but that's what can be managed in a simple way). We could also make the hub questions or reports available in our website...

well, my thoughts...

Dear all,

I agree with Raquel's proposal: in case that it's not possible for the hubs to follow the live webcast due to time zone differences, they should download the file and organize the local debates in a more convenient time. In my opinion, it's important to emphasize that this time gap should be as little as possible. The debate should be organized within the next 12 hours, for instance, because we have to keep the "feeling" of synchronism as close to real as possible.

The hubs will still have the opportunity to participate on the main sessions through the 2 minutes video that should be recorded and sent prior to the debate.

Do you agree? What's your opinion? I believe we will all face the same question.

Cheers,

Marília
