Dear all,

We had a truly productive meeting on Thursday! Not only we coved the topics of our agenda, but we also advanced important issues.

This summary should help us to keep in mind our discussion and next steps.

Please, report on the list any news, so we can be aware of the pace of the whole team.

Thanks so much!

Marília

Summary of the meeting (06/06)

1 – Outcomes of Lacnic meeting

Raquel has made contact with Lacnic directors and ISOC. The objective is to create a network of interested people regarding the hubs. They would like to read a formal document, with the details of the proposal.

Groups potentially interested in hub development in Brazil (Raquel is our contact):

- Steering committee

- Ritz (NGO)

- Other NGO (name?)

Raquel, did you meet the Steering Commitee on Friday? How was it?

Ongoing contact with Egypt (Rafik is our contact)

Write an official proposal to send Brazil and Egypt (Marília, Rafik, Raquel)

The proposal will be collectively written in google docs. Rafik will send the invitation to the list.

2- Comments regarding the document from Nixi (Hyderabad organization)

Strengthen the possibilities for interaction. The hubs could send a 1 to 2 minutes statement at the end of each session (statement that allowed a concise response or opinion to be added to the transcript of the meeting)

ex: video recorded prior to the sessions, an "youtube" bank of statements.

Need secretariat approval.

Ginger is responsible to write to the organization.

3- Activity in Second Life

SL would be convenient for some sessions of a smaller range (best practices, open forums, workshops) and maybe the IG Village copy.

Responsible: Ginger in partnership with Diplo.

4- Meeting with the Italian company (IGF webcast)

If we will webcast each session it is good to have a server for each meeting with two operators. The company has only one server and they are two only guys.

It's technically possible to record and webcast parallel meetings, but that it will depend on resources (add servers and people).

Steps:

1-Try to find out if parallel meetings organization are interested (we need to share tasks here)

2-Talk to the organization about it: Is it possible to find more volunteers to operate cameras and manage server? (Ginger, can you?)

3-Search sponsors? Google.video? (Let's wait for the response of the organization?)

4-Suggestion: Get in touch with an IP-TV station to webcast (ex: joost or blip) – Max, can you do a first research on this?

5- Obs: Raquel will talk to the Brazilian team who webcasted Lacnic to ask about the technical requirements to add ppt presentation on the screen and the video in a short box next to it.

6- Update of our site

It would be nice if we kept a record of our steps and accomplishments, in bullet points (Marília and Ginger responsible)

7- New proposals: twitter, facebook, orkut

Objectives:

- awareness raising

-back-channel to allow meta-conversation for onsite and remote members.

Rafik will see other possibilities and next steps.
