Hello all!

This is just a quick reminder of our meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) at 20 GMT.
We were requested to deliver a formal proposal about the hubs to the Secreatariat. Only when we present this document, the IGF organization will be able to move forward regarding the hubs. They are waiting for a formal communicate from the Secreatariat and the Secreatariat, in turn, is waiting for us. So the first topic on our agenda is this document.
Secondly, we are going to discuss the developments of our regional contacts.
Third, the possibility of a SL hub.

See you tomorrow

Best!

Marília

Hi everybody

I just met with Lauren Gekman who directs Stanford's Center for Internet and Society and we agreed to organize an IGF Remote Participation Hub here at Stanford. I will setup a page on their wiki within the next couple of days and we agreed to have the concrete agenda / events / tools emerge (depending on interest we can generate at stanford and in the region).

As said next week i meet with some folks from harvard's berkman center to explore whether there is interest to provide a Hub.

One idea we discussed is that given the time-difference between the states and india it might be interesting to setup local collaboration/discussion venues. So participants from the east coast can discuss with folks from the west-cost etc.

I also contacted the german IGF/WSIS list and offered to facilitate the setup of hubs - let's see.

unfortunately i most likely wont be able to make it to the skype meeting tomorrow

hear you
max

"It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by the dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions and spends himself in a worthy cause; ... so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat."
