Dear colleagues, 

We are pleased to share advance notice of the Third Annual Meeting of the Global Initiative on AI for Health (GI-AI4H), jointly convened by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

·                     Dates: 16–18 September 2026 

·                     Venue: Hangzhou, China 

·                     Co-hosts: National Health Commission of China, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), China National Intellectual Property Administration, and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province 

Building on the outcomes of the previous meetings in Riyadh (2023) and Singapore (2025), the Third Meeting will bring together policymakers, regulators, researchers, ethicists, industry experts, and global health experts to advance the joint agenda on the responsible development and deployment of AI for health. 

The meeting is currently planned as a three-day programme 

·                     Day 0 (Wed 16 September): Pre-meeting site visits showcasing AI4H innovation, smart hospitals, and primary care applications in Zhejiang Province 

·                     Day 1 (Thu 17 September): High-level policy dialogue, ministerial keynotes, parallel sub-forums 

·                     Day 2 (Fri 18 September): GI-AI4H working sessions (WGs and TGs) and global progress report 

A detailed agenda, registration link, and logistical information will follow in the coming weeks. 

In the meantime, we kindly invite you to save the date and share this announcement with relevant colleagues and partners within your networks. 

 

Please note that in-person participation is self-funded. We encourage you to plan early for visa purposes.
