Listening to the stories families don't have information and are using all the social media aps

Need for an ap to be developed where family can post information on their loved on and others  an add to the posting.

The authorities can add information to the posting for the family.

Need also to have electronic ID bracelets or pins for each victim.

There should be emergency laws thar allow info sharing across jurisdictions.

The Red Cross would be  suitable organizarion to run such an ap thR can be used in various critical incident situations.

If members are interested we should propose this as a letter.

A tragic accident, apparently caused by candles, has occurred. I agree with the need for a letter. The situation involved candles, a basement, alcohol, young individuals, and a significant fire risk. The only exit was via narrow stairs, leading to confusion amid loud noises and music. The lack of proper preparation and housekeeping rules contributed to this very sad outcome. However, we still need the full investigative report.

Regards

Dear DCs

If there are other DCs who would join us in our letter as signatories please let us know.

Crans Montana was a place that my friends frequented in our youth, so personally meaningful. I also hear of other such tragedies in the US and in Europe. Most recently Asia suffered the cyclone with similar issues of search for loved ones.

Respectfully

Dear Amali,
It was probably some kind of table fireworks, not normal candles, that caused this tragedy. One of these firework candles was held quite high, just below the ceiling. However, it is unclear why the fire spread so quickly. The event was not in a basement, but on a slightly elevated ground floor, and people could be seen exiting through emergency exits in a video. It is too early to blame specific issues, and I would not make any assumptions at this time.
As many people were severely burned and in a critical condition, it is taking a lot of effort to identify them. Once the police have identified someone, this information is shared across jurisdictions. I am not aware of any laws preventing this. Of course, chip implants or ID bracelets would allow for easier identification, but do we really want them?
Switzerland is a well-organised country, and I don't think the International Red Cross needs to coordinate information about the victims, even though the ICRC is located nearby in Geneva.
Without proper knowledge of the situation, I would refrain from suggesting anything from the side of DCDDHT.

Best

Dear all,
As some more information is available, I have to correct my statement. Although the entrance to the club was on the elevated ground floor, the club itself was in the basement. There should have been a second escape route, which however seems to have been locked.
A mother with two surviving sons has put a post with questions on LinkedIn:
It seems that regulations were not complied with.

Best

Jörn
