Dear All

In mid 2027 the original DDHT will close. A copy  DDHT2 can be created at the will of the remaining members according to your new structure. But use of the old name will be archived.

Unless we hear of your wanting to leave, your emails will transfer to a new entity. The old elist will be archived.

It is an issue of privacy and confidentiality laws. We built this in Canada where it currently runs. No members from Canda will remain in 2027. There are also issues of intellectual property etc. A new list at IGF is already created which is actually better.

There seem to be multiple sub DDHTs running at this time with all manner of leadership. I don't know who is running what these past 2 months.  That is poor practice. Poor Ethics and False publicity.

I  will be chair to year end and write the annual report for 2026 for what I know is going on. We have strict guidelines followed by use of this list and email but there seem to be other group lists unknown to the management of me, of this DC.

I also think we are losing new members as the concept of open membership is not followed. Robert Guerra did a great job managing this list until 2025. We thank him as we could not have this DC without him.

New list managers are in place now. Yao please transfer all members to the IGF list. Then please work with Robert Guerra to archive this Google Groups list. There are legal issues to keep using this list in 2027.

Thank you all who joined DDHT. We have done great work together. But now it is a new era, different geo politics and hence regulations. A new vision is also provided by UNGA
. So time for Real Change in our governance as well.

I will ask the webpage to be archived and a new one to be created in 2027 with a new name from the new management of the DC. But not DDHT copyright.

I recommend that Amado and Jorn be co chairs and Joao be made vice chair. All other positions I have created are dissolved. The Terms of Reference which can be used as is, or modified for use, pr written anew for the new group. The book closes now and will be archived for reference.

I will remain here in the background with my duties.

The IGF proposal underway was not shared with me by a sub group. I feel upset even stupid soliciting your ideas.. please excuse any work done.  I leave them to manage that process this year and will refer to it in the AR only.

The rest of the year may be quiet unless anyone of you propose another event.

Right now I feel as if the rug has been pulled out from under me. This was not a transition year, it was a year of planning for the future. Perhaps I didn't communicate that. I was to be kept in the loop in my mind onky it seems. I may calm over time ... but now feel very hurt. We lived by IGF rules but I guess others don't want to abide by them.

DDHT was a success with 2 to 3 hours of work a day from me. Some of you did great presentations and articles... thank you you helped create the body of knowledge.

Subgroups created may not be the ones... perhaps it should be regional ones as the regulations differ greatly.

If you have comments post this to the list....

Hi Amali,
Thank you for the great working all these year.
Please I can't find the link to the new list or perhaps I haven't been added yet. I currently only have access to the Google Group mailing list.
PS: I have not yet seen my article for 2026 on the portal. Could you please ask Roman to post it.

Kind regards,

Dear Amali and members,

In my view, we should maintain the document collection (the "DC book") containing our papers in a prominent position on the site (seventh on the list of DCs) to confirm our permanent status within the framework of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) intersessional work.

The issue of competition with other UN agencies regarding publication should be addressed elsewhere; resorting to intrusive methods ("hacking") is not a diplomatic approach that respects the specific roles of each party.

It goes without saying that all UN-related matters should fall within the realm of economic and social affairs, under the responsibility of the New York-based department.

Best regards,
Frédéric  Cohen

Objet : Re: [IGF-DC-DDHT] Closure of DDHT in 2027

Dear All,

I just woke up to all these emails and am trying to follow and understand them. If you are referring to the tittle of the proposal, this was discussed at a DC meeting . The document was shared to us to populate a topic, Yao indicated that I should do it, therefore I filled in the tittle and wrote the information, it is open for editing.

Unfortunately it was a while ago and I can’t find the email, but I shared the link for all to edit.

I think that we were busy with WSISand this subject was overlooked.

Not sure if this is a problem, the document may have been shared in the chat during the DCmeeting for us to populate during the meeting.

Regards

June Parris RN RMN BSc MSc

Amado

Please arrange to copy the book over to the new DC page in 2027. This is a reasonable request...

Thanks Amali
