Dear Markus and all

Thank you !

As the next call is too early in the AM for me here are a few thoughts.

2030 is the SDG milestone. Hence I think we are in a stage of application of the existing technologies to a mature use state. We are consolidating our ideas and applying them for global good over the next 5 years.

Hence topics that focus on the user acceptance  maturities would be good. This allows the UN to really show the progress to 2030 of tech use and now it the time to close out any gaps.

I think post 2030 we need to recondition the SDGs as we need to apply focus on ethical IT development, interoperability, scaling etc.  The world can see the power of tech now but what, must we share and learn for global togetherness? Most countries have tech but not the advanced tech. So day to day aps are now common but what about integration and scaling for cost reduction?

As the space travelers said Together we reach out and push beyond current frontiers for the future.

We need to grapple with booming populations, a variety of values and social national norms ,  which are issues for interoperability, not just the tech but the approaches to quality and understandings.

Limited resources which Included access to
Limited services like healthcare for all are Real issues for human rights.

How will we share the moon?

We see regional friendship partnerships east west and new paradyms of Thought.

How do we achieve a togetherness? New frontiers for the UN as the traditional colonial powers give way to other countries or regional groups.  But we are better equipped with social knowledge than we were 70 years ago.

Themes

Working together
How to we plan foe equity in space
Leave no one behind
Understanding each other for collaboration

Thank you,

Dear Amali, all,

Good question, but I don’t know the answer. I think we will have to wait for the new MAG to be operational.

Meanwhile, let us be pro-active and be ready for when the moment comes. As we discussed in our last call and as I mentioned in an earlier email,  it would be good if the DCs would come forward with a theme in their respective area of competence that would be of interest to the wider community. This can be a theme the DC is currently working on, but it can also be another theme that is topical and would capture the interest of IGF meeting participants.

I have asked the IGF to set up a google doc for that purpose. We can discuss this further at our next call.

Best regards
Markus
