Downloaded from Flyawaysimulation in two minutes - it was my first download ever from there but it was fast. Installed all route folders and have been flying in several different places with no issues. Seems to run very smooth on my computer.

The Shipyard contains a mixture of new purchasable ships and free ship add-on packs for Ship Simulator 2008. These products require a fully upgraded version of Ship Simulator 2008, some also require the New Horizons expansion pack.

The plugin currently does not implement speedups requested from SITL (i.e. the frame_rate in the servo packet sent by the controller is ignored). However the simulation speed can be controlled from the Ignition GUI.

The C-Wizard can now automatically set up a matrix of computations with cavitation and/or transition. This extended application is available in batch mode and is aimed specifically at foil simulations. As such, the required inputs and workflow are akin to the previously available foil VPP matrix template.

We are therefore very happy to announce that we have started the Alpha prototype development of NAUTIS Home - the successor of the Ship Simulator series. NAUTIS Home aims to make next-generation ship simulation available for all. A new chapter will soon start and you can be a part of the journey!

This is Version 3.0 of the Global AI Ship Traffic Ultra. More than 400 new ships have been added since the last version bringing the number of unique ship models close to 900 and the number of ships including repaints close to 1800. The route coverage has been expanded increasing traffic density though the focus is as usual to have diverse ship traffic according to what you could see in each region. To reduce the load on computer systems, the ship routes have in this version been included as separate regional packages, so you only need to install the routes in the area where you intend to fly.

Also, the increasing number of ultra-large containerships is reflected with new models and the fleet of oil and gas tankers expanded, and a number of ferries have been included in particular in the Pacific North West and in North Europe.

More than a hundred ferry routes are covered with their specific ferries, and you will find naval exercises with Navy ships from most regions. Watch a full-scale NATO landing exercise on the West Coast of the Jutland Peninsula in Denmark or the Brazilian or Chinese navies doing the same in their respective areas.

Watch the departure of a Tall Ship race from Saint-Malo, Kiel, or Sandefjord or an around-the-world sail race departing from Gothenburg... Go looking for Maersk Alabama in the exact spot she was attacked by pirates on the coast of Somalia as later depicted in the movie Captain Phillips with Tom Hanks. More than 40.000 ship movements ensure that the sea is no longer empty.

A great thank also to the many beta testers and a special thanks to the shipping company DFDS for providing documentation to make realistic models of their fleet of passenger and freight ferries and to DGzRS Die Seenotretter for allowing to model their 28m rescue boat Nis Randers.

To install please unzip and drop the included files in your Community folder. You must as a minimum have the folder GAIST Ultra, which contains all ships, and one route package installed, but you can choose to have one or several route packages installed depending on where you fly. Ensure your traffic settings for Ships and Ferries are 5-10% to avoid conflicts with other AI ship traffic including default.

Henrik Nielsen has been developing AI boat, ship, and seacraft vehicles for Microsoft Flight Simulator since the early days of FSX/P3D. His projects have been running for over a decade and have included support from many developers he has been in contact with over the years. He has recently re-created his AI Ship/Boat traffic add-on for compatibility with the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2020 release.

A huge mod bringing over 600 ships, boats, yachts, and other seacraft vehicles to the seas, rivers, and oceans in Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2020 release all driven by AI traffic to make virtual flights even more realistic. Developed by Henrik Nielsen and team and is completely free to download and use.

The developer states that this new "Ultra" version includes extra models of boats and ships along with extra routes (all based on real-world data) along with effects including animations and how the vessels react with the water (for example in storms) within the sim. The dynamics are hard to create and as this is something brand-new for MSFS, also a learning curve for the dev as it's vastly different from FSX/P3D development.

This mod is complete in the sense that nothing is left to configure (or need) to be able to really bring waterways, oceans, and ferry crossings to life in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Over 600 different boats, ships and vessels have been included and meticulously crafted in their 3D model and design.

Animations and effects have been included to ensure they interact with the seas/water in a way that's realistic and accurate even with different weather scenarios. Wake effects, the bobbing up and down in the water, and other perks have all been included. There are even some ships you can land a helicopter on (or perhaps even a fighter on an aircraft carrier - although not tested!)

What an absolutely stunning addition to MSFS. I can now fly around the globe with ships and boats beneath me as I fly. I can't confirm the authenticity of the routes the ships make but it sure adds some fun to MSFS! Thank you MR Nielsen!

You have extremely detailed flying sims, several of them. Extremely detailed truck sims, extremely detailed off-road transporting sims, and even extremely detailed train sims. But there are no good simulators for captaining ships. The only ones I can find are rife with poor reviews, and people asking a similar question.

I would love to be able to captain a freighter across the Atlantic, Pilot it into port, and mark a course for the next destination, along with keeping track of cargo. Maybe you can even own your own shipping company, kind of like ETS. Or you could just take a pontoon boat onto a lake, realistically made to simulate actual pontoon boats.

After seeing the world created by Microsoft flight sim, it doesn't seem impossible. You would only have to render coastlines, and the ocean around you could simply be randomly generated. It shouldn't be that hard to get specs for various ships and boats. Along with the general design of various ports. You could even create AI ships to properly crowd the ports.

The Marine Systems Simulator (MSS) is a Matlab and Simulink library for marine systems. It includes hydrodynamic models for ships, underwater vehicles, and floating structures. The library also contains guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) blocks for real-time simulation. The algorithms and methods are described in:

I am a long time user of Gaist ship traffic and really do appreciate all the hard work. I have been using the V2 Beta since it came out and have had no problems with it. I would like to ask this question directly of the author on Flightsim.to but comments and questions are disabled.

I have installed the Gaist Ultra folder and the NorthAmerica routes folder in my Community folder after removing all prior versions of the Gaist ship traffic addons. Now, with V3 I see NO ships of any kind, no matter how I set the traffic sliders (starting at 5 and going to 100).
I have tested in San Diego where I used to see a lot of traffic and just now in Long Beach California, the busiest container harbor in North America.

The air has gone out of my enthusiasm for these ships. After a couple of successful loads I've got the dreaded 'Hang on Fly' syndrome. I've spent countless hours trying to figure this out and I admit to utter defeat. It's a bloody shame as those ships were/are beautiful.. Good effort

Hello,
i have a problem with GAIST ULTRA V3:
I noticed that i have never ships in the area while landing at a airport next to the sea, so i did a testflight along the westshore of norwegian.
I start a flight and some ships are shown (in MSFS and LNM). So i fly along the coast clinbing to FL24. After a while some new ships are injected before me (at FL 12) and the old one disappears. But these was the last ones for this flight. After i reach FL24 i decend back to 4000ft - hoping they would appear again at a ceratin FL. But nothing... no more ships/boats.

Any help?
Thanks
Lukas

I'll have to go back and check but I know that using Active Pause causes Little Nav Map to lose the connection to your aircraft and only a restart of the sim brings that back. Maybe this is a cause of the ships disappearing?

Virtual Sailor NG in an excellent nautical simulator, having excellent marine dynamics, this simulator allows you sail where ever you wish, to explore and customize your boatsand to train yourself on all forms of virtual-sailing, boat simulator or ship simulator.
Virtual Sailor NG was created by Ilan Papini, first version released on June 2021.

Virtual Sailor NG brings the best of my experience in developing marine simulators, this experience began with the development of Virtual Sailor in the year 2001,later continued with Vehicle Simulator in the year 2009, Fire Flight in 2017,and finally Virtual Sailor NG in 2021.
The program combines the best and most accurate physical models of vehicle dynamicsand ocean waves simulation, and is based upon the innovative physical elements methoddeveloped for Vehicle Simulator.

The program uses its own graphic engine, its netowrking library is based upon the ENet library using fast and reliable TCP/IP.
All scenery and vehicles developed over the years for Virtual Sailor and Vehicle Simulatorare fully working in VS_NG, and additional in game scenery design has been added.

I hope people will enjoy this program, appreciate the big effort it took to make, and show appreciation by bying the program, Please avoid using illegal and pirated copies, for the small independant developer piratedsoftware is the major cause of going out of business.

Thanks,
Ilan Papini
