Postdoctoral Researcher
Gebze Institute of Technology -Chemistry Department
Salary: 2250 TL per month (2 years)
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher (funded by TUBITAK) to work in the laboratory of Associate Professor Ayhan Çelik. The work will focus on protein engineering of newly discovered reductases/dehydrogenases enzymes for fine chemical synthesis. The effects of rational mutants design on the binding of substrates and cofactor will be investigated in collaboration with computational chemists (Associate Prof. Hatice Can).
The applicants arepreferred to have prior experience of work involving molecular cloning, mutagenesis (e.g. site directed and saturation mutagenesis), with particular expertise in an area of enzyme purifications and kinetics.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Chemistry/Biochemistry or a related subject, or have equivalent research experience. Knowledge of HPLC- and GC-MS are also desirable but not essential (training will be given). Applicants should be motivated, well organised and able to work effectively as part of a team. This full time post is for a fixed-term of two years.
