1. The students will no longer have the backing of the brand DCE and University of Delhi which are recognized the world over and would, therefore , face problems in seeking admissions in foreign universities for higher education as well as getting job offers.

2. DTU is going to be totally entangled in the strong web of bureaucracy, making it susceptible to local political influences in every sphere from admissions to recruitment of faculty, resulting in overall degradation of the Institute.

3. Degrading DCE to a level of State University coupled with permission to foreign universities to set up shops in India would further worsen the chances of attracting good faculty leading to lowering of academic standards and the quality of education.

4. No state university (Technical) in the country ranks anywhere amongst the top 25 institutions of higher learning and DTU being a state university would meet the same fate.

5. The faculty will loose the gazetted status and pride of belonging to a renowned Central University.

6. The alumni will also loose its sense of belongingness and may not be
inclined to help the DTU students in getting jobs and provide mentorship.

7. The people and Government of Delhi will loose a precious jewel in their
crown i.e. DCE and the country an Institute of historical importance and rich heritage.

This conversion is ,therefore, not in the interest of any stakeholder and is a loose-loose situation for all.
